T/C legal barrel lenghts
« on: February 05, 2009, 05:53:55 AM »
What is the legal limit to barrel length on a T/C pistol?  I know a barrel on a rifle cannot be shorter than 16 inches but can a 16 inch or larger barrel be mounted on a pistol frame or is there a law against that?

There is no maximum length restriction on pistol barrels.  Yes, a 16" barrel can be mounted on a pistol.

Federal law doesn't put a maximum length on pistol barrels, but local/state laws may.  Check locally to be sure.

As far as I know (around here anyway), if you feel like dragging a pistol around with a 6' barrel, that's your business!

Thanks everyone.  I didn't think there was a limit to length on pistols.  I think 16" is about my limit....I prefer 14" on a Contender however.
