any one still interested in trying this i'v been doing some thinking(when i was supposed to be working) and would be will to set it up and organize it.

kevin:  that is sure an interesting idea.  I had heard about them in the past but did not know what the course of fire was and wonder if you have the specifics.  Jokingly, does this mean that if the Postman rings twice you should duck?  Also, with you all the way up there and lots of us way down here, wouldn't that would be really stretching a 37 cent stamp?  (Ouch!  I'm sorry buddy, I'm just full of it today).  

On a more serious note, I wonder if this is something we might be able to introduce to Graybeards Annual Shootem Up?  But, please do let us know what the specifics are regarding the course of fire and the types of firearms used.  I would be interested in learning about it.  Thanks.  Mikey.

The club I joined in July has military bolt-action matches.  You can go to this link to see their course of fire if you're interested.  Those matches are what got me into mil-surps, though I still haven't shot one yet.

allowable rifles: any bolt or semi auto military rifle made before 1953(no AR's, no M-14's, no AK's  or SKS's).sportered stocks are okay if sights, action,chamber and trigger pull are original setup.


classes are as follows;
WW1 bolt actions(SMLE's, Mausers)
WW2 bolt actions(Mosin-Nagent's, SMLE's, Mausers, Arisakas)
WW2 Semi autos(Garand, SVT-40)
Blackpowder Cart. single shot(martini's, trapdoor springfields)
Blackpowder Cart. repeaters.(Lee-Metfords, 1870/84 Mausers)
Striaght-Pull bolts(Ross's, scmidt-rubins)


course of fire will be one target off shoulder at 100 yds, and one at 250 yds off a rest. five rounds at each target.clock starts when your first round is chambered and ends when last case is ejected.

we would have to find a none partial 3rd party to judge & score the targets.
