Dang... why would you keep anything that hurts to shoot? I'm sure turkey can be killed with something that doesn't hurt you too. Ducks, geese, deer, black bear and pretty much everything else but about 6 animals in the world can be killed with lighter loads and heavier guns. Shoot, even the Big 5 can be taken effectively with a 10-11 pound .375 that won't beat you up too bad. I got stupid and bought a .376 Steyr Pro Hunter. It's just about equal to a .375 H&H but it came in a 7.25 pound rifle. After 14 shots I put it away. I still have shoulder problems. It now has 1kg of #9 lead shot in the butt and is much more well behaved (it's for sale now as well). With the shoulder problem I even added 1kg into the butt of my Tikka .308 Lite. I CAN take it out for stalking but I normally leave it in. I'd rather carry a 9 pound rifle than have more rotator cuff problems.
