7.62 x 39 ammo
« on: February 10, 2009, 11:00:57 AM »
Hey guys I'm new to graybeard forums, I really enjoy all of the different topics. I just have a quick question, does anyone know  where I can find 7.62 ammo in bulk say 1000 rounds at a time?? Can't find any anywhere at all !

I can find it but at $300 plus its a real bargain isn't it.

Does GrayBeard have sponsors that would sell ammo?  I always like to steer towards a sponsor of a board. I have not bought any x39 since the pricing skyrocket...unfortunately only had about 3500 rounds stashed for a rainy day.

I'll monitor and if you can't find any I will post a few links.  Most places seem to be on a "wait list" or so to get it shipped.

Keep checking sites everyday. Most sites will post ammo and before the end of the day it's gone. You may even want to contact a few by phone and ask if they will notify you when it comes in.

Hermit:  one of Graybeard's best known sponsors is MidSouth Shooters Supply.  I have ordered ammo from them before and they are very responsive.  When you first get onto the home page look for their banner.  HTH.

The last couple of weeks I have been able to get 1000 round cases of Wolf for $216 from a local pawn/gun shop. He has both FMJ and HP ammo available. I bought my most recent case last Friday. He only had about 20 cases in stock then. Edit: The HP was $225 per case. Plus sales tax.

Instead of spending a lot of time searching for the best prices try this;

http://gun-deals.com/index.php  Just click on the "ammo" at the top then the caliber your looking for a list will come up of the best buys.

I think that AIM just offered some 7,62x39 ammo if they have any left. I've seen this ammo offered at other sites and a million rounds would sell out in minutes go figure maybe the arabs are buying it.

I've used AIM Surplus for years.  Of course their inventory varies depending on what is available on the surplus market but they usually have close to if not the best prices.  Good folk also.  And not just ammo!

I thought the7.62x39 ammo was expensive at $99 for 500rds and its gone even higher now.  If you still want to buy the 7,62x39 ammo i would watch the dealers on a daily basis and really watch www.sportsmansguide.com  ----  www.aimsurplus.com ---- www.the-armory.com  they post it and sell out very fast.

Buy and shoot your 22lr right now and wait for this to blow over. I hope its soon.

The 223 ammo just hit $300/1,000rds too.  I was smart to stock up on it when it was $99/1,000rds not too long ago but i wish i bought more. I grabbed as much 8mm turk ammo many years ago too. Thanks to us in the forum talking many years ago saying and predicting the surplus ammo would dryup first my many thanks to S/S  as usual he was right on again. Not too long after we talked about it the 8mm ammo started drying up and its been a long down hill ride on surplus ammo ever since.  Soon we will only have the Priv-Partizan ammo company for manufacturing all our surplus calibers which is a good thing.  Plus the russian companies too.  I liked the quality of the Sellier & Bellot ammo but the prices have close to doubled lately.  My swede and chilean mausers are very accurate with it.

The surplus military ammo surely has gone full circle which i thought would never happen in my lifetime.

Cheaper than dirt was asking 0ver $17 a box for 7.62x39 black box wolf! Thats over $800 a 1000! I think it was selling too. They seemed to be the only ones with any in stock, and they knew it. Strange times where in now.

This is due to the rumors of our new pres stopping the importation of the cheap new ammo.  Of course if this happens the new ammo manufactured here will take on a whole new meaning price wise.  I won't be buying any of it for sure if its not cheap. Once the surplus ammo has dried up were in deep doo doo if they hault the imported stuff. This is why were seeing the ammo drying up and the reloading stuff drying up too.  The new pres has caused the biggest gun and ammo buying so far in the history of the US think about it.

Someone is offering 8mm turk ammo at an out ragious price too its the 70rd bandero's too.

Lets hope he stays focused on the ecomony for a longtime.

$301.28 for 1120 rounds on strippers.

http://www.samcoglobal.com/index.html

I bought the same stuff (not on strippers and got 1260 rounds).  I haven't "popped the cork" yet, and picked it up for extra as it's brass-cased.
