Old topper 88 12ga
« on: February 11, 2009, 04:22:18 AM »
I have an old topper 88 that someone gave me that wouldn't fire, after disassembling it I found the transfer bar was missing and replaced it and the spring, still would not fire ,all you can see is a light mark on the primer, replaced firing pin spring and cleaned firing pin , still have the same results they only two things that I haven't replaced are the hammer and firing pin (orderpin from Numrich and it would not fit it was to big for the hole in the breech, called Numrich and they said it must be a variation because by the serial number it should have worked ) Anyone have any suggestions on what to try next ?
Thanks
Al

Chuck up that pin in a drill and file it till it fits.

Alk, Make sure you clean the firing pin hole inside the receiver. Hunman55

Got it fixed, the first transfer bar I installed was the wrong one for this model, put a new one in and works fine.
