Messing it up for all of us.
« on: February 11, 2009, 09:30:40 AM »
This guy walks into one of the last hardware stores to carry guns,
buys a shot gun and shoots himself right there in front of the clerk.
This place is on my way to work and there ammo is almost as cheap as Walmart too. >:(

I bet they quit selling guns all together.

Your both in all likely hood correct.......  Frankly, I hate the policy at my local Wally-World about being "escorted" out of the store by a Manager carrying the weapon......but ya know, I don't really blame them one bit.

Cant blame them either. Its not a horrible thing to not be able to carry it out of the store. I mean you own it know and can carry it as much as you like when you leave the place.

Our local GANDER MOUNTAIN has had this same policy for a long time.

That is bizarre, so bizarre in fact to discount This to the anomaly pile as a chance in millions and too not effect/affect the norm.
I would be upset and shocked at viewing this scene but I don't think this would cause me to discontinue selling weapons.
As for the escort thingy---I don't think this solves or prevents anything.

Yea I have to agree there. What stops a guy that was just escorted from the store with his new gun and ammo for it from going out to his car and loading it. Then goes back into the store and shoots everyone he sees. If they were to make the escort thing work they would not allow you to buy shells for that particular firearm you are buying at that time. That is the only I see it making any sense. Unless that guy already has a box of shells for that gun in his car. Besides that a person that does this is off his rocker anyways. Dale

Bummer... We had a incident here in SEMO where a guy had bought a new pistol and shot himself in the head while cleaning it at the range... at least that was the official story... they still sell guns btw

I'm glad the guy is dead, too bad he killed his wife first.

This coming from a guy who is such a great God fearing, Israel loving christian.... you sure make your religion look so loving and caring in fact I think you should become the new poster child for christianity.

I just really can not understand the mentality of some of you folks... And for all of those who claim to be christians and then in the same breath are screaming Kill them... Let them die.... they are trash, scum, beneath me and blah blah... What the hell... Please tell me who the hell it was that died and left you guys to become God, Judge and Jury on morality and the value of human life... as well as who gets what rights...

I would expect a group of people who are so close to loosing the right that brought them all together would have a little more respect for other people’s rights. But alas I guess all of the grouping, stereotyping and profiling has desensitized you to the point that you do not believe in the inalienable rights that we were ALL once granted by that wonderful document we once had called the Constitution.

I just can not grasp or understand the mentality required to think that oneself is above any other based only on religion, wealth, location, lifestyle or what ever else you idiots choose to use to justify it in your mind. I can only hope that one day people will stop trying to place their own beliefs over the rights of the people. Understand this if nothing else... Just because you do not do it, do not like it or do not approve of it does not mean that some other person does not have the right to. If this was the case none of us would have guns.

So next time you decide to place your own twisted opinionated belief of right and wrong on whether or not some one else has the right to do something.. how about keeping in mind that there are many people that think you do not have the right to own a gun, worship your God of choice and a lot of other things that you do everyday and feel you have the right to do.

If people would mind there own damn business and stop trying to run everyone else’s life... this would be a much better place to live... also we would not have been so damn side tracked and distracted that we could have prevented the corruption and molestation of our country by those idiots we have allowed to be elected.

I will now step down from my soapbox.... next...

I thought so too... but it would really fit in almost every post in this forum as of late... not sure why but since the election it seems a lot of people here are all for trashing others rights with no regard for the Constitution or what it once stood for.

Matt,

Here are two of the most overlooked lessons in the bible.

"What do you think?  If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?  And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off.  In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost." (Matthew 18:12-14, NIV)

"Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them.  Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?  And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home.  Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, `Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.'   I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent." (Luke 15:4-7, NIV)

I am amazed at the number of "Christians" willing to deal out death to those who fall short of their definition of the norm of society.  Think of it this way...a Muslim murdering a Christian has done nothing but release them into Heaven, while a Christian murdering a Muslim condemns another soul to Hell for eternity.    Now....would I let one kill me? NO, but then I understand that the road to Jesus is a journey, not a destination.  One must always guard against pride, especially when it comes to the safety of your own soul.
This that I do, I do by my own free will.

Yes its a shame that the gun used and the store that sold it will get the blame, But I have to wonder what drove this fella so far as to do this to himself, It looks bad for gun owners but he would have prolly used a car or knife, jumped off something or worse taken someone else with him. I believe we will see many more such things as our world continues its downward slide and I do mean world not just the USA. :(

What a horrendous story.  Those poor children!  They lost both parents.  I bet the 17 year old will be emotionally scarred for life.  That is just terrible.  I'm sure there is a bigger story behind this.  Wish I knew what could drive a man to do something like that.

The guy murdered his wife in cold blood. No reason for him to live, but he should have gone somewhere else to kill himself and not in public. He probably saved the State thousands of $. I feel sorry for those kids. POWDERMAN.  :( :( :( :( :( :(

A very close friends father pulled the murder suicide thing with his mom, I feel very bad for the kids and the wife, but have no feelings of decency for the father. I can't see where I have decided on this account where i chose who would meet who and when. All I said is it was to bad that he chose to take someone with him. This person in the above story chose when he and his wife would meet their maker, not me.

MATT
At first glance, I assume that I look rather hypocritical. I know that there is some hypocrisy in all of us.
I look at it this way.
I abhor killing---I abhor being killed much more.
I have no problem with thinking that some would be better off, for societies sake, dead. I say dead because it cost so much too keep them up.
Now the hypocrisy. I would not want a genocide too take place as we have found in the past.
I certainly would not care too make the decision who lives and who dies. In the same breath, I have no problem making that choice, if a jurior, thought it would probably takes more for me too say die, than for others.
Let me finish---there are some people just not worth keeping around.
I will make that decision when and if it ever comes around and have too live with the consequences.
Blessings

That would have only helped so much. He had bought the gun and done all the paperwork.
If they had carried it out the front door before he shot himself in the parking it would be just as bad.

A few months ago a woman went down to the local indoor shooting range and rented a gun and went in there and put it to her head and killed herself.  The range was shut down for just the rest of the day, everything was back to normal there in short order.  You sign a paper before you go in there, maybe that keeps the lawyers away....beats me.  But that range/gunshop is full of people all the time and it's business as usual.

Family and kids left behind are the ones to feel sorry for, it's a horrible thing to lose a loved one or a parent like that.  I can't feel sorry for anyone who kills themselves though.  For them it's over, the ones left behind are the ones that suffer.
Shoot, if ya wait long enough you'll die anyways...what's the hurry.  Never could figure that one out.
