remington model 7

I have a rem.model 7. It has a 18 1/2 inch barrel .Have a chance to get a 22in. barrel off of a rem 700.What i need to know will it thread into the model 7 receiver without major work on barrel.

Seems to me it will but I can't remember for sure...  :-\  Darn CRS!   :(  I got 2 with 18.5 inch barrels; a 7/08 and a 260.  I love 'em myself.  What caliber(s) are your barrels?

the barrel i have is a 7/08 will be going to a 308.

They do... now! ;D  The original version had 18.5's.

Don't believe I would spend the money to have it changed.  You already have a great rifle.  Buy another or sell the Mod 7.  Don't ruin what you have.

+1 emphatically!   :o  You got about the best they is!  If ya want a 308, just get a M-700!

You thought wrong. They make or have made 18.5", 20" and 22" and yeah I own or have owned them all.
