GRANDAUGHTER JADYN.

Shes about 29 months old and has a rare blood disease. When diagnosed she was said to be the 4th in the world to have it, they now believe there may be 60 or so.  She has lesions, like balloons, in her stomach and colon. They swell up and burst. About 9 in of her colon was removed over a year ago. She's  been on steroids since birth, the only thing that has helped control the bleeding. Her muscle development has been badly hurt, but when she isn't sick or hurting she loves living. The drs have tried experimental drugs on her and last week told my son and dil that they are out of ideas. She had 7 blood transfusions and 3 platelet transfusions from Jan 5th - the 12th. Almost bled to death many times. Sometimes the blood is going out faster than they can put it in. The drs have called the family in 15-20 times saying theres no way she can live through the night, but she does. Even then, there are some who can't see Gods hand in this. They have been in contact with drs and hospitols all over the place, there is no cure. Even the docs said she would be dead if it weren't for Gods hand and prayer. They said 2 days ago that the lesions would have to be removed surgically or she would die, also said that the chance of her dying during surgery were pretty high too, the kids agreed to the surgery. No surgery = death, surgery = possible life. My son is 35 and having chest pains from all the stress, dil stressed pretty bad too. They put off surgery trying yet another new drug. About a year or so ago she was taken to the hospitol and the carbon dioxide??? Or monoxide??? was up to 267, 90 is lethal. They again called the family in saying she will be dead before the night is over, more prayers, she still lives. I've lost track of the blood transfusions in her short life, well over 100 I know for sure. I can't understand why God has allowed this suffering to go on, but there is a purpose, I just don't know what it is. There have been many times that I've prayed for it to end, asked God to either heal her, or take her home. Through all of this her mind has stayed very sharp, no learning disabilities or brain damage. Our son said, She's a perfect baby Dad, she just bleeds a lot. Through all this John and Kristina have kept their faith in God, I'm so proud of them both. They live in ILL, me in KY. My mom has cancer too, remember her too please.

I know that you and I don't always see eye to eye.  But just know that in times like this that we are here to pray for you and your family.  To see a child such as your granddaugher hurt, bring tears to all of our eyes.

She and all her family are in my prayers.

That has to be the worst a young child suffering from such a disease. Things that I can not understand as to why.
