Good morning Montanan, 1Southpaw, dpe.ahoy, torpedoman, MT_Sourdough, Forster, Skunk, pab1, AtlLaw!!!!

Just a word of warning Gents, It's Valentine Day.  She may say it doesn't matter but it you don't remember you will regret it.  Mine said earlier this week...Nothing for Valentines! Very emphatic.  This was one of the times when the message was the message. So to honor he wishes so for this morning I have sent her 5 or 6 of those corny "Roses are Red, violets are blue...." email.  All day long, everytime I go by the computer I will send another.  I also in my Microsoft Publisher I found templates for Valentine's cards and greeting's. I can fill them and send them via our wireless printer which sit's next to her computer. I will do this all day long also. She will act annoyed, but she won't be.

Just one of the little things that I have used to survived 42 years of marriage.

One thing I wanted to point out and forget in yesterdays conversation shooting at long range...When you sight in for the longer ranges you  you will have a very small foot print for you point blank range.  For example my primary hunting rifle  for a couple of years has been my 338/308 AI.  Probably should call it a 338 Federal AI.  Anyway velocity of the 200 grain Nosler I use is 2600 fps.  I want point blank range for 5 inches +/-. This means my bullet theoretically will hit within 5 inches high to 5 inches low to my point of aim, all the way out to just under 300 yards.

If I Zero this gun for 400 yards I will have a 5 inch +/- point blank range only from about 365 yards where I will be 5 inches high until about 415 yards where I will be about 5 inches low.  A very narrow 50 yards.

But before the bullet gets to the point blank range of 365 yard, it is 9.3 inche shigh at 100 yards, 14 inches high at 200 yards, 13.7 inches high at 250 yards and 11.4 high at 300.

Good morning to all .
Yes it is the one day of the year when some are in the dog house . Not me , we discussed this issue and decided to save the money for more bullets .  ::)

Actually over the last 47+years we have bought enought cards. So now what we do is go through the file card box and pick out one we traded years back .

At this age they are like new ones as we don't remember the old ones  :)

Jack the wonder Airedale just wandered in to the office with a card under his collar , Thoughtful of him eh ?  Followed by the Wife with her card for me .  ah , life is good .

Have a special day ..... :)
Left Handed people are in their right mind .

I still got ...she came downstairs carrying a cup of coffee for me and a homemade heart shaped place mat with a sentiment on it.  Then a few minutes later she she came down carrying my oatmeal with some little heart valentines.  Even the the bluberry jelly on top of the oatmeal was heart shaped...Also got a big kiss.  Back in the old days.....

Thats a good point on the arc of trajectory , Doug.  Steeper angle going up equals steeper angle coming down.
Today, I am loading my girlfriend and her kids into the grocery-getter and heading down to Stevensville for a gun show.  The oldest son spent a good part of yesterday evenning looking at different rifles on the web and asking me questions about different ones.   ;)
Gotta git'me a bigger ice box

Richard and Kathie.  Happy anniversary to the 2 of you!   (Pretty slick coverin'  2 of the days a guy must never forget on the day that is marked for ya on the calendar Richard. ;))   I kept my behind covered with Flowers, (cut and potted), singing card, frogs (she likes em, don't know why and ain't gonna ask) and dinner for just her and I tonight.  (None of the 7 kids are allowed to even call us unless 2 pints of blood have hit the floor.)  I think that will get me by till our anniverary in April, IF I don't mess up to bad. ;D  Have a great day everyone, Richard, again, Congradulations on finding your special one, she sounds like a great LADY.  DP

Way slick, I wish I would of thought of that.  We did get married on a Labor Day weekend so more often than not we get a little 3 day holiday.

I don't think that'll be enough to save me.  I might have to stop by the grocery store and pick up some flowers and a card on my way back from work.
