A question about our representatives
« on: February 15, 2009, 03:24:58 AM »
Doesn't the fact that this "Stimulus" bill was passed without even being read by our congressmen,in someway break their oath of office? Or at least their promise to fairly represent the citizens of the US ? Somewhere in our Constitution ther must be some protection from what they've done. There may even be grounds to remove them all from office.

They have been doing this for many years. The only difference is this time it was on a much larger scale. Problem is that things will never change unless "we" get off our butts and make it happen.

Oh I'm sure they have done this before. Just look at all the stupid unenforceable laws that have been passed. But this goes above and beyoud stupid. This is absolutely abusive of their office.
Your probably right, it has been going on for too long to be stopped now, without a complete change of those in office.

vote ! for canidates that want to change , maybe 3rd party . start with local elections and work up . We Americans like to think we can rush into any problem head first like the calvery and fix things in one fell swoop . Well it has taken since the Civil war to screw things up , for the Dem's to get people , laws and such in place to pass laws that encourage people to vote for them or lose wealfare and other hand outs so the road to turn around and recovery will be long and slow . Hope many are like you and really want change and not the change we are promised now .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

Vote Vote Vote ..and that unfortunately does not mean things will be right. Just vote for they ones you believe will do the best job, maybe not the most honest one. Then turn and puke as you realize that you are participating in that slimeball crap.

There is so much money that influences them that no matter if he was a man of honesty he will succumb. If he is a honest man that can not be corrupted or bought he will be defeated by the money that is out there. They simply will not permit it.

How many men do you know that will hold their principles if offered millions and the chance to change forever his and his families lives for the next several generations.

How many?

I'm afraid that we are past the point of voting them out, and hate to say it but it will take an uprising or worse to get them cleaned out. I've said all my life, and see nothing that changes my mind, that these political positions were never meant to be lifelong jobs!! Our forefathers suffered and self sacrificed to represent us "The People" and most lost money to do so. Not so today or even in my short lifetime! Untill we get back to that, we are doomed.

You are right. Voting isn't going to change these problems. There are to many corrupt politicians in office now with power and influence. The only way to change our government would be to actually remove these people from office by force and appoint the people of our choice. The chances of this happening is beyond imaging.
