I have an original Stevens 44 1/2 .22 LR that I inherited from my great-grandfather, and it has a peep site set up on it and I can't figure out how to get any more vertical adjustment out of it. It shoots about 2 inches low at 40 yds. with .22 match ammunition, and I can't bring the rear site down any farther to make it go up. Or am I going at this wrong and I need to bring the rear site go up to make the point of aim go up? That seems backwards to me, but i could be wrong, please enlighten me, I'm not sure of the model of peep site, it flips up and down and is very solid, it has a threaded screw down the middle of the rear site to allow for vertical adjustment and two locking rings that allow you to screw it up and down. Please help me out, squirrel season is upon us and I want some Brunswick stew!!!!
