First shots from my 17m2 pics
« on: February 18, 2009, 08:47:35 AM »
I recently bought a new NEF 17m2. I took it out to sight it in. I had boresighted it and I was right on the money. I have never had a boresight come out this close. These were the first 5 shot from my new gun.
It was cloudy and misty so I just leaned against a tree to steady my shots. Shots were 50yards with a Cabelas 4x12 pine ridge scope set at 12. I just put a Meuller APV on my NEF 17HMR and this was the scope that was on it. I can say right away the Mueller is so much clearer. I also noticed this NEF has the smoothest trigger I have ever felt on a NEF sporster, guess I got lucky ;D

You guys were right these 17m2s are shooters. I am going to try and find another to buy. Thanks for the reviews you guys gave me.
I dont know what will happen when the barrel get broke in. :o
Thanks again.

Way to go 1 Farmer! That's some good shooting! Those Mueller APV's are sure great scopes
for the money! When you get a chance give the Eley 17M2 ammo a try. Many people say
it shoots the best in their 17M2 rifles. It definitely hands down shoots the best in my 17M2
Sportster and my Marlin 917M2. It's cheaper than Hornady too! ;)

I've got some Eley ammo on the way. And your right those Muellers are great scopes for the money and realy work nice on the NEFs. This one has a Cabelas pine ridge model but I plan on getting another Mueller APV sometime this year. I had this scope on 12 power and it realy shows your movement at that setting. I could see my heart beat through the scope because it was raising the crosshairs about 1/8" from where I was trying to hold it. A bench or better rest should have been better but I was just wanting to get the scope close and shoot a few rounds for now. I have some Remington and Eley comming so I will try to post those groups if the weather will cooperate sometime. These cheap NEFs dont shoot to bad ;) ;D

One other thing Farmer you will find after you get it broke in... you can just use the patch dots for your target instead of the whole target ;D Kurt

WOOHOO, another great shooter!!!

Yup, I LOVE mine!!!  Cant say enough just how accurate it is for me.

I was @ Cabela's last night and thought I would pick up some of them Eley boolits.. no chance.. sold out. :'(

But I'm not worried, I find it hard to believe they will out shoot one hole groups I get with the Hornady fodder!!

Congratulations of a great little rifle!!!
