Well since I can't hunt the park and I feel the fall is for hunting not wetting a line where can I find some public land to hunt in the gatlinburg area.  I don't mind a drive if there is a good spot available near by.  I drive up to spillway at douglas in the summer several times during the week we are down.  Anything around the lake since I already know I can find that without six hours going where am I.  Doubt I will be down during the rifle season as it coinsides with our bear and rifle season so probably archery or small game.  The wife hates to move before noon and refuses to get ready before 3 so I figure I have most mornings when we are down this fall.
A week away from the woods in the fall kills me nomatter how much I love it there.  Can anyone help ease the withdraw.  Don't need your special spot just a nudge towards a hunting permitted sign

I believe that is region 4.  There are several WMA's in that area.  Go out to the TWRA website and look them up.  You can download a copy of the regs that will list all of them as well as any special regulations and permits.

You have 629,000 acres of the Cherokee national forest south of the Great Smokey Mountains......

Season's are short....Tellico is noted for it's bear and hog hunting.....
