..LIZARDS! :D

I was getting dressed this morning when I noticed something on the GB mortar sled.

A green anole. We have these all over the yard and occasionally (as you can see) in the house. Doesn't bother me, these are good lizards. They eat all sorts of little pests.

Until the cat finds them, then they are 'cat toys.'  :o


This is a little one, only a couple of inches from snout to hips, with about a five inch tail. They can get about twice this size.

Say what you will about reptiles, this one has good taste in artillery! ;D

As long as he doesn't try to sell me insurance, he can stay...



Oh BTW, I haven't forgotten about the canister tests, but my range I cleared with the bulldozer is presently a big mudhole. If it'll just go a full week without raining, maybe it'll dry up enough to shoot

A big mud hole would make a cool photo of impact splatters if you could catch it .

The knob came off of an old cutting torch, I soldered in a threaded insert (made from a brass nut) to attach it to the screw. The threaded flange was made from an old regulator body.

Well, if it was just the impact area that was a mudhole, that would be a different story. As it is I would have to slog everything in by hand because I can't drive in.

There's no rain forecast for the next few days so maybe it will firm up some.

The funny part is that there is concrete to set the cannon on, but I have to drive across a mud bog to get it there!  ::)

He's Baaack!

Actually it never really left, and it's laying on the axle of the field carrige right now. I'm not going to bother it tonight.

I took these photos Saturday, I just now got around to uploading them.







As you can see, it's expanded its interest from mortars to cannons.

At least it's keeping the bugs and spiders off the guns... ;D
