Got an e-mail from MidwayUSA that they have new Moyers metal Triggerguards and spacers in stock (signed up for the list before I asked Quick about the quality).  I don't suppose anyone out there knows if they are any better than the lousy ones Moyers used to turn out, do you?

Do a search here using Moyers in the search box and quickdtoo in the by user box, select only this forum from the list.

Midway   now lists trigger guards and forend spacers. Steel spacer=$19.99 and guard=$29.99. Brass spacer=$23.99 and guard=$44.99 Has anyone tried these yet? I would hate to be the first if they are junk.

Apparently I didn't make it clear in the original post that I knew about the previous reviews and even have tried to fit one of their triggerguards in the past. There were great promises of improve, ents during the time when they weren't available.  I'm curious as to whether or not anyone knows if the promises have been kept.  Especially about the horrible way they ground off the back of the trigger guard so it wouldn't meet the frame.

I bought 3 brass sets from Moyer's (1-2 years ago I believe) before I knew better (from the people here).
I remember that it took forever, so long that I had forgotten about them when they finally showed up.
I worked on one set and put them on a 30-30 Handi along with a mannlicher forearm.
They are ok, but I would not spend the time doing it again (because I just do not have enough time).
I will GIVE the remaining 2 sets to 2 different handiholics here for the asking.

Use that to send me the address to mail the brass set to you.
Thanks, but no cost, I have gotten so much free and valued information here, I owe back.

I saw this thread on the 20th and did a search for Moyers on the internet. Found them, ordered a brass trigger guard and spacer. They show up in the mail today the 23rd. I had them polished and installed by 1600hrs. It took about three hours, including the time to dismount and remount the new parts. I had never taken one apart before so that took a little time. The FAQ section really helped. I would have liked to have spent less but I love the look. I found them easy to fit and polish.

I have a 16ga that I'm changing into 50/70 government carbine. A vintage steel butt plate, brass fittings, a saddle ring, buck horn sights, a modified hand guard with a barrel band and spring, and a barrel liner. It's starting to look circa 1871. love it.

Great sight.

I finally found my cache of brass trigger & spacer sets.
They were in a plastic box labeled "Handi Gun Parts", imagine that.
Anyway it turns out that I have 4 sets.
I kinda remember ordering 3 sets and when they never showed up, and Moyer could not tell me the status, I thought the order never got through.
So I placed a another order of 2 sets.  When the finally did show up there were 5 sets.  My memory is old.
Bottom line is I have 2 more sets for 2 more handiholics.
Set 1 is Kitchawan Kid, Set 2 is KanasJ.

Pics would be nice, would like to see if our criticism of his mold worked, you can see the problems on mine, the "legs" on the spacer are too short, mine was also warped which I was able to fix, but the cutout at the rear of the TG is awful, I sent him pics of his parts and actual parts in comparison and even offered to send modern parts for him to copy, all he did was accuse me of not knowing what I was doing, saying his parts were correct.  >:(

The Williams FP-HR-TK is a nice sight, I've got the elevation gib lock knob on my wish list at Brownell's to order the next time I need something there (like a laminated camo forend that's been backordered for months), it eliminates the need for a screwdriver when making adjustment. I've only used it to 200yds, but Bernie has used it to 600yds with 500gr cast bullets, see Long Range Sights for the BC/Target in the FAQs for more info.

Speaking of sights which one (or which kind)  have the more authentic look, I know it's a strange question :-\
