New Remington Model 700 XHR

What does everbody think of the new Remington XHR? I like the looks and 22" barrel, but for the money, I think Remington should have used a better stock.  Might make for a nice whitetail rifle.

I like that you can get it in both long and short action. I like the Super Cell recoil pad. I also like that it has the external adjustable X-Mark Pro trigger. As far as the stock goes, I could see where the Hogue Overmolded accents would help out on a wet day and the stiffness of the forearm just has to be stronger than if the entire stock was a Hogue Overmold with only the pillar bedding. Also really like the Realtree AP HD camo color of the stock.

I like the fact that the barrel has a magnum contour, but I just can't warm up to the rectangular shape. I also like that the barrel and action have an oxidized finish like the tacticals of last year. Overall, it looks like a nice rifle and would indeed make a great whitetail rig, especially in .270 Winchester.

My local gun shop ordered a bunch this month.  He said it was going to be a while before he got em.  I got one of the VTR models (308) and it is a shooter.  I just need to decide which caliber.

I was thinking of one in 270 as well.  For that kind of money I would like to see an XCR type with the bedding block.
