The 75gr A-Max is almost a bullet good enough to build a rifle around.  The B.C. is awesome and it is light enough to get up to good speed.  It should work in your SPS Tactical.  I bought one myself a couple of weeks ago.  I've already removed the stock and sold it and am awaiting a McMillan A5 for it.  I've bought the 68gr Hornady BTHP, the 75gr Hornady A-Max, the 69gr SMK, and the 75gr Berger VLD bullets to do load development with.  If you push them fast enough the 77gr SMK might work as well.  Hope this helps.

Congratulations Wind Drift. I bought the very same rifle back in December. Sort of a Christmas present from the family. Like Diggler, I've purchased some 68g Hornady BTHPs. Also picked up some Sierra 69g HPBTs. I'm a little skeptical about trying anything in the upper 70s though, given the 1 in 9 twist rate, although Berger claims their 75gr VLD is supposed to work with the 1 in 9, as Diggler pointed out. I'd estimate that most anything 75gr and below would probably work well with your rifle; guess it would depend on what you want to do with it. Not much of a help there Wind Drift, but I wanted to share in the excitement of your new rifle. ;)

Congrats to you too, Diggler, on your new SPS Tactical. Please get those 75gr Bergers loaded up and lets us know how they work out.

Gotta wait on my next McMillan.  I ordered it while I was deployed back in December, figure I have about two months more of waiting on it.  Figure I'll jam the Bergers into the lands.

I have a 700LTR which is similar - a 20" 1 in 9" barrel - my most accurate rifle. Top accuracy with Sierra 69MK and the 52MK is pretty good too. The Berger 55 provides a high degree of consistent accuracy.

Good to hear about your accuracy with the 69gr SMK [700 223].  I ended up picking up the last 300 of them at my local highway robber...I mean gun store (ha I work there occasionally too  ;D).  Got a pretty decent deal on them.
