More great video history on the Randy Weaver story and the incident at Ruby Ridge.

Well worth watching for anyone that's not familiar with what happened and the severe levels of abuse and corruption by the feds. Of course, thanks to the Clinton adminisration that also brought us Waco!

My fear is not so much that some police force is going to come to our town looking for guns, I don't think this government is going to make it that far. What I see in the very near future is total collapse of the economy. What will follow that? Mass starvation and anarchy. I am getting frightened enough that I think that I will propose in our Church that we start considering what we need to do to become a Church patterned after the Church in Acts. Yup, that's right a commune. Hard to think about, don't want to think about it, but I think that will be a way to survive total collapse, and the sooner we start preparing the easier it will be.

Being a patriot will be a moot point when there is no government either duley elected or revolutionary.

Whats going on in this country right now is what we call boiling the frog. You cant throw him in a pot of boiling water he will jump out, but you can put him in a pot of room temperature water and steadily turn up the heat little by little degree by degree until before he realizes it he is cooked.

It's whats happened to this country politically, and its seems to be what has and is happening to the second amendment. They are not gonna wake up one day and say OK  "no guns allowed". Its gonna be a tax here, a law there a ban here and so on and so forth until your gonna wake up one day and you cant get a new gun for whatever reason and you cant find ammo, if you do find it you wont be able to afford the tax on it. When that happens there will be so few people that have a weapon it will be easy to isolate them and  deal with them.

People have been so disenfranchised by the corruption that they just dont wanna be bothered by the BS anymore. it makes it easy for the politicians to get where they want to be. "We" have let "things" happen in this country that are detrimental to our well being not because we dont care, but because we "thought" somebody else was taking care of business. Have you ever noticed that competant and capable people dont do the political thing and if they do (Duke Cunningham) they end up corrupt and incompetant. The days of statesmen and patriots in government are sadly over from everything I can tell. IT Seems that all they do is boil the frog, either from greed for money or power and in the meantime the  country is disintegrating into a "What the country can do for me " socialist state! This country wont be destroyed by a foreign army it will be taken down from within. Then "someone" will come along and take it away from us like we did  to the previous occupants.

Oldshooter, your "boil the frog" analogy could be very well compared to "VOTING THE LESSOR OF TWO EVILS" could it not? This after all is what got us here. Voting for the Lessor is easy. You just vote for the guy whose box full of crap your standing in. Takes very little time and effort, and frees you up to criticize the guys that do the research, and vote independent for an HONEST candidate.
It is time to pay for the apathetic voting habits gentlemen. Let us hope we as a nation survive, and learn that  PARTY A, or PARTY B, is not the ONLY WAY, that sometimes PARTY C or even D, just might be a better choice. ;)

bilmac, you perception quite possibly WILL BE the "real case scenario". However, do not underestimate our government, and its command over a military of youth that is not necessarily that well informed, and might be intimidated by governmental threat of such things as court martial.

I respectfully disagree about the lessor evil. It has no party lines, I detest the 2 party system. I think it(boiling the frog) is what is happening now and has been happening for a long time. We have been desensitized to having our freedom gradually taken away. Look at gun control, who'da thunk in 1945 that you would have to take a course to carry a handgun in Texas or Louisiana in 2000. Yes you can doit but sooner or later the requirements and taxes will be such that no one will even try to be legal.  Look at the president we have who'da thunk that a socialist would say he was one on TV and still get elected. Look at abortion, Gays in the military and in government. Hell i dont know if i can even say that that is an abomination anymore in a public forum. Red tape and corruption is rampant and if you question what is going on your a racist! As far as an honest candidate show me one! To become a successfull candidate in this country you have to sell your soul. And if you don't you will get about as far as the primaries and no one will be interested. Ask some that did!  You may not agree with my analogy but I think when it is boiled down, (no pun intended)  we are arguing the same thing. Slowly We are being stripped of our freedom by the people who we have sent to washington. Kruschev said we would be beaten without firing a shot and he was  right. We just oulived him and the Soviet Union is all.
“Owning a handgun doesn’t make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician.”

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."

I think about things mentioned in this topic.
I wonder what kind of world our grandchildren and great grandchildren will inherit.
I look in awe at the generation of my grandparents.  My grandfather was a naval avaitor in WW2.
I can not help but wonder what our grandchildren and great grandchildren will think of us, when they ask those of us who are still alive, " What was it like being free" ?
" we are screwed "

im betting your grandfather might expect a little more effort out of this generation toward preserving freedom for thier grandchildren..i mean what are we really doing to preserve our freedom.. send a little money to the nra.. some don t believe thats any good at all. but selling your gun owner buddy on the importance of total commitment to oppose in what ever way is necessary, any more treading on our gun rights..  now you do that an then he sells somebody on being that commited to freedom .. then you done somethin..jmo
ps i equate gun ownership rights with our basic freedoms in this country,as free people.. we allow anymore success by gun regulator advocates an we gurantee an physical confrentation somewhere dn the road.. i don t know if that can be avoided but i know we need time to plan actions an tactics ..both civil an whatever else it takes..we need to start yesterday..slim

old shooters right.. i don t know how right ,but hes sure right about a lotta what he said.. many civilazations in history were founded by an hungry,,committed people..many of those people achieved thier goals..
im not talking the tyrant dominated people as say the people of ghengis kans day.. im talking about people that overthru his kind..
on the other end ..many peoples with strength in numbers an
cause,,slowly thru time were they eroded into an uncommitted  lazy
people ripe for the picking by some tyrant or people who are committed..when i read the histories its obvious they weren t strong enough or committed enough to carry the banner any longer..
right now a song comes to mind.. its a little ditty about a women whos been on a date that she thought had high promise,,
she kinda disappointed in the whole evening ,,an the catch line in the song ,is  DID I SHAVE MY LEGS FOR THIS.. don t have any idea why that song came to mind. just thought id mention it..
im taking this to the top one more time with hope.. i guess its just up to the people of any society to determine thier place in history..
:) slim ps hope the seed planted deep an in enough fertile soil.
time will tell i guess.yall have a great day
