J.B.Youngs 360 Grain in the Raging Bull 6.5 In. .454?
« on: August 31, 2003, 08:59:05 AM »
Hello to all.I just bought some of J.B.Youngs 360 Grain Hardcast for my .454 Raging Bull 6.5 in.I have never loaded Hardcast before but I have been re-loading for too many years.I kinda no the drill.Has anyone used these in the .454?I use H-110.My guess is start about 22 grains and work to about 1425 fps for a Max in the 6.5 inch barrel. How close is my guess?I have a Chrony and use the Lee Factory Crimp Die.I would appreciate your comments on the 360 grain Hardcast in the .454.Best of luck to all.Jayco.
I didn''t do it and whoever said I did is lieing!!

Jaycocreek
I loaded 315 grain leadhead hardcast bullets under 22.0 grains of h110 this weekend for my 45 LC Ruger blackhawk. Shot 5 through my chrony today. Low was 1178 fps, high 1206 fps. The avg for the  5  shots was 1190 fps. Starting load given was 21.5 grains. Don't guess, check reload
data for the minumin and max loads.

Hey thanks guys.I said -I guess because I cann't find any Load Data for the .360 grain in the .454.My guess was based off of Buffalo Bore velocity in there .360 grain which used to be out of a 6.5 in Barrell and they have a note saying they don't load there .454 Ammo to Max for a couple of reasons especially jumping the crimp. Is there any Data out there?Still pretty new to these darn computers and the Internet.
