I saw on this webpage where the heavy 12-pounder bronze gun this unit has, was used by the Confederacy prior to being stored at Ford's Theater, then they got it.
I'm interested in how the Confederate connection was established. I sent them and email but maybe somebody else knows. I always like to learn.
