Has anyone shot the Rem 700 VTR
« on: February 24, 2009, 04:23:52 AM »
I've been looking at the Remington 700 VTR in a 22-250. Wondering if it shoots as good as it look's.
Love the color combo, matte finish, barrel shape & the muzzle brake. Looks like a great varmint rig.
I've got 2 other Remington's in 22-250. A old 788 & a 1960's 700 BDL Varmint. Do I need a 3rd one?
Would like your honest opinion on group's, trigger pull & noise with this muzzle brake.

Thanks in advance.

I have one in .308 laying in my office.  An associate of mine tests and writes about firearms.  He ran this one through the ringer a few weeks ago, and brought it to me to try.  He shot several sub MOA (in the 1/2" area) groups with it.  He was using Black Hills Match ammo at the time, and stated it shot as well as his 700P LTR.

I have got to get out of the office and try it.

What's up with the forth hole? It is above and to the right of where you measured. Just wondering. ::) Dale

Forth hole is after I made a scope adjustment.  I almost never do 3 shot groups but now that I have trouble getting bullets I keep the groups to 3.
