Artillery lends dignity to what would other wise be a vulgar brawl.

Some really good stuff in there.  Instructions on safe loading and unloading in case misfire.  Information on making sponges and cartridges. Load charts are interesting.

Thanks for posting.  I am going to enter the Cannon section in Tim's Reference post at the top of the board.

What I have read so far is well done.  They seem to have covered everything.

Thanks Owen,

I'm always delighted when I see anything concerning ordnance that I hadn't seen before; good show! I've already printed the section on how to make a sponge and construct foil charges.
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

Interesting thing on the misfire drills - wait 30 seconds before repriming.  THIRTY!!!  More if there is still smoke coming from the vent.  Good lord, I wait longer than that with my flintlock.
