lizards and Beavers
« on: February 25, 2009, 07:23:23 AM »
have you ever hunted lizards or  Beavers and what did you used?  i have found Beavers in my area to hunt but there in many in the southwest region to hunt(i only found a few) and i found them in the upper hillsbrough area. anyway i killed them with 12ga,slingshot, and my airguns.  Killed many  Knite Anoles,Green Iguana, and Nile monitors  in pinealls county with my airgun and slingshot. green iguana get over 6 feet :o :o and are hard to drop, Monitor lizards are very intelligent and very strong (you think hogs are bad, if these things were the size of hogs you would need a 470 or 500 or 600 NE). one almost took a finger off.

Killed a few beavers while deer hunting when I lived in TN. Shot them
with whatever I was using for deer, usually either .30-30 or .357 MAX.
Either one did a number on beaver. Even killed one with a .22 LR (head shot) one day when
squirrel hunting.
Never seen a lizard much over 6" long, 'less you count the gators down
here where I live now.
Where the heck do you live that you got 6' lizards that bite fingers off? I want to make real
I don't go there anytime soon.

Jamal. You have been around here for some time now. I really just thought you were a kid that knew no better. I am calling BS on this one for sure. I think you are not a kid and get your kicks by the replies you recieve from your idiotic questions. I have been known to be out there at times but you top me by a thousand miles. Don't get me wrong. You are interesting but full of bull crap. Dale

I'm fairly sure what he tells us is true.  My favorite is the rat hunt at night in the dump, that is a real classic and deserves reprinting.  Larry

Back by popular demand!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The rat story. It took a little digging but here it is. Oh by the way there are others that are equally as good. If you guys need a laugh just read the back posts. Dale

i been sick lately cause i got a real bad bite from a rat. me and my friends were cleaning out the dump and we had shot a few coyotes that were around it. When someone had the idea just to set fire to everything. that was a VERY BAD IDEA cause the fire got out of control and TONS of very mad rats came running out of it. It was like a bad dream or something out of a movie and i say s@@t run and ran.  the fire was moving fast and had cut out the only way to get out to we had  to run into the rats and run to the small lake behind the dump. I have never seen a sea of rats but we moved into it and i thought maybe if i fire a few off from my gun they would move or something. I fired off about six from my 380 but that made things worse cause before they were running pass us and now a few run onto  me. About 5 or six got me and we did make it to the water and swim across and then ran like hell.  the fire burn it's self out after a day and i had to go get checked out. I was OK but i got the flu. fire+rats= getting bites.

that not what i posted.
But what ever ::) anyways i going to up nebraska(my mom wants to go now becuase we have some time) and i found out there is a Furbearer Season for badger and i missed it, so it's not going to happen. Could i kill a badger with a airgun? more then likely if i was useing a pre-charged-pneumatic or a Break barrel  spring gun. i have killed bevers and a nutra with my Discovery PCP that was very big. but i like here in FL better, no snow ;D and there lots of stuff to hunt with airguns.

What do you mean that is not what you posted? I went back through all your posts to find it. Then I copied and pasted your post. Are you forgetting your own stories now? Dale

Jamal,
No airguns needed for badger. Up here we just reach in and grab them like grabbing for big cats in the river. They're a little slower this time of year being so cold, so you just reach into their den with some big leather on(like welders gloves) and snatch them and throw them out. After the rat incident I'm pretty sure Badger Grabbing would be tame stuff for you...

I lived in Malaysia for 2 years and work a lot in SE Asia. Believe me a 6 foot lizard is not rare in those places. They can also run and swim pretty fast. They would have been easy to hunt out there too. Place a piece of rotten fish or something and they would come a runnin'.

Comeon guys I try and give alittle more leeway with busting on jamaldog cause I think that is what he wants in the first place, but three edits by greybeard in a row and I am gonna end up in trouble soon.  Knock him around alittle, but I will not hang for you.  Keep it clean.  Remember the next person to read this may be a child while dad runs to the head.

Jamaldog did have his own forum here at one time but it only lasted for a couple weeks. Some of the classics were "a day with a rabbit" but I think that the one that earned him the forum was
