I sent him some bucks but not sure if he got the rifle or not.  If not, I hope he just put the money towards a cup of coffee and took a few minutes to put his feet up and relax from running the site for a while...

Thanks GB...

That would kinda be a yes and a no.  ???

I think I got around $300 give or take a few bucks one way or the other toward the fund from you guys. I had already purchased/traded for three ARs and a complete lower well before CHRISTmas.

I ended up with two Remington R15s one with an 18" barrel which I have set up with a camo EOTech Holosight for a primary home defense rifle and the other with 22" barrel I am still waiting on rings tall enough to mount a scope. It will be used at this year's GBO Prairie Dog shoot if we get to go. I have purchased two different sets of tall rings so far for it all too short to allow the scope to be properly mounted. I currently have a third supposedly made just for mounting scopes on flat top ARs on back order and am still waiting arrival.

My plan for this one with the 22" barrel is to have two scopes for it with QD rings one a Leupold 3X for closer work and the other a high magnification variable (specfically which one yet to be determined) for long range work. I might or might not also get another EOTech for it.

The third is a Charles Daly which I think is set up as an A3 flat top but with attached carry handle/rear sight and a fixed tall front sight that isn't removeable.

Matt and I have taken the 18" R15 out and shot it some and have it properly sighted in and ready for use. The CD was shot also but at the time I had no tool to adjust the front sight so it wasn't fully sighted in but is close enough for close up home defense use. I do now have the proper front sight tool and it will be sighted in next time I get it out to my range.

The lower does not yet have an upper. My intended plan for it is to get another flat top 5.56 upper with a gas block with rail at least on top for front sight and hopefully on bottom also for attachment of a laser/light combo. I hope to mount BUIS and either another EOTech or an Aimpoint to it. I plan to set it up as sort of an ultimate home defense rifle with a low or no power optic like the EOTech or Aimpoint and BUIS and also to have a light and laser. I figure barrel should be 16" to 20" and likely will have one of the hand grips on fore end as well but that's not fully decided.

Bugflipper had offered to let me come visit and give his ARs a try to see which type of sighting equipment I liked best to help me decide what I want to buy. He also offered me a bunch of brass when I visit. He has kinda dropped off the site for now but I have his contact info so one of these days will be contacting him to see about paying him a visit.

I've been waiting for winter to end. I'm not much on getting out in bad weather really and it seems it's either cold and windy or warm and rainy here this winter. Nice days for shooting have been few. Yeah I know you northern guys then our worse days are nice but we southerners don't.

So yeah I spent all that money and a few thousand more already on ARs and am currently too broke to finish things up as we took a large hit to our income this year which has badly delayed additional purchases. Still yes I got not an AR but three and a half of trhem in fact. Soon it will be warm and nice and I'll be out playing with them more.

I have already written up the one trip Matt and I made to the range with them and when I get out again will write up that also. Photos will be taken when I get them out in nice weather. The day we were out it was late just before dark and time was a bit limited and rushed so no photos that day.

Bill,

The best rings I found for use w/ the scoped A3 I had were Millett High mounts.  They worked exceptionally well and seem to be quite a bit higher than other makes.
I'm voting 3rd party in this election by writing in Jesus Christ for president.  Sadly even if this were an option most of you would still vote Republican because "It's a two party system."
