Some better news out of Springfield - Parks to re-open
« on: February 26, 2009, 02:45:18 AM »
http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/clout_st/2009/02/quinn-expected-to-announce-reopening-of-seven-shuttered-state-parks.html

At least some good news in this state......

Many of us (especially in the face of an economy that is terrible) who enjoy the state parks for affordable outdoor recreation and vacations can again look forward to using the parks that Blago closed in order to achieve his political goals.

I'm sure that the people and businesses in the areas around the parks appreciate the return of some dollars spent by the park-users too.

This move might even have a higher aggregate return (percentage-wise) than the federal stimulus package. (More jobs, more spending, and more happy, healthy people!)
CIVES ARMA FERANT - Let the citizens bear arms.
POLITICIANS SHOULD BE LIMITED TO TWO TERMS - ONE IN OFFICE AND ONE IN PRISON.... Illinois already does this.

I hope that this also means that the 50% of the staff members at the parks and historic sites that were laid off will be rehired.  These institutions can not function without these people.
