Winchester 9422 Wall Rack
« on: February 27, 2009, 06:25:46 AM »
Found on closet shelf a Winchester 9422 wall rack, impressed into the front is the WINCHESTER logo,on the back the white tag reads-WINCHESTER TRADESMARKS,LICENSED BY THE OLIN CORPORATION.there are 2 small grooved wooden mounts lined with felt on the front for mounting the rifle,Walnut/Pine??24 inches long,6 inches wide and 1 inch thick. The only information I can find is-1)Made for the 9422XTR or 2)Winchester employees only.Tried the internet no luck,I saw one a few years back on eBay,went for about 90/95 dollars(not sure).
Any one here have a clue?

I have one of those wall racks, which I did purchase off of eBay, probably last summer.  As I remember it, the one I've got was used by a dealer to display 9422's.  It is a genuine Winchester item, and as far as I know, was only available to dealers.  There was another, different, two-gun rack which was given to customers with the purchase of a 9422 in the mid-70's.  That's about all I know.   ;D

In the late 70's, Winchester ran several promotions that gave new gun owners items like that for free or a few bucks (I can't recall which), when they registered/returned the warranty card after a new gun purchase.

I got a tan suede/fringed leather rifle sheath, marked with the Winchester logo, after I bought my first .375 BB94 in early 1979.
