birth cert. of the president
« on: February 27, 2009, 10:55:33 AM »
Anyone seen any congressman present a law for consideration that would make certian the birth cert. of a president would be checked before he was elected ? Seems there is a provision he be an American born here but none to check him out . Seems it would be easy to give the suprem court the job of checking since they swear him in . If he dosen't pass the test they don't swear him in !
seems this was a big issue , so soon we forget !
I would rather the LAW makers work on this instead of becomming bankers how abot you ?
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

The rules have always been made up as they went. It has just become obvious when ones own agenda was threatened (2nd Amendment).
Bush was able to do more damage to our Constitution and Bill of Rights than Roosevelt, yet the President was seldom examined here, until Obama became president.
How odd, that a President (Bush) that offered to sign the Clinton Gun Ban into permanency, and wanted also to make the Patriot Act permanent, got so little attention here, while all the while he built the armory, and stocked it with the ammunition the next President (Obama) would need to finish us off as a nation.
He is even still defended at times. He lulled most here into a state of sedated trust while he whittled away quietly at your financial security, your border security, and your Constitutional Rights thru such wonderful inventions as the Patriot Act.
I find it bizarre that Obama fires the weapons into the crowd (the American people) that the Republican Bush provided and folks still pray for the Republicans to save them, all the while blaming it on only the OBVIOUS liberals.
You are on your own fellas. Cowboy up! The Calvary ain't comin. ;)

Now Dee I have to question that remark since it was "W" That was instrumental in resending the clinton gun ban.

Could you point me to where "w" said that?

"W" made his mistakes, granted but I'm not convinced he was out to destroy the country, I was not privy to the info that he was and neither were you sir. I think he did things that he thought were the right thing to do inthe face of the things that were going on at the time. He also did things that he knew were not going to be popular but he did them in spite of that and with integrity.

You are not a bush supporter , obvious but you seem to have bought in to the left wing assination attempt of him

I supported and voted for Bush as Governor of Texas, and I voted for him for President TWICE. He has proven to be a "wolf in sheeps' clothing". Anyone whom has read The Patriot Act would agree. He CONNED AND PUSHED the House and Senate to instate it, and WANTED IT MADE PERMANENT.
Apparently YOU have bought into the Republican party and Bush being Conservative and on YOUR side. They were not. Have you not been paying attention as to whom started this bail out mess? Have you already forgotten or did you never know? Did you not know that when the House and Senate REFUSED the auto makers Big Three, that BUSH helped them?
Oldshooter, do some home work. Has ANYONE EVER, defeated Afghanistan on their own turf?  Why did we allegedly have Bin Laden cornered, and then go start a war in Iraq right in the middle of the BinLaden effort? Go as far back as Alexander the Great. And LASTLY! Exactly WHAT DID IRAQ do to the U.S.? Be specific.
Also Bush on THREE OCCASIONS on NATION WIDE TV stated that the Christian and the MUSLIM, worship the same GOD! Do you really believe that Oldshooter? Seriously? Bush is a fraud, and YOU SIR, are the one whom bought into a lie. I too as a Texan bought into it for a while, but even us Texans down here have seen the handwritting on the wall.
Check out this website. It is truthful.

Dee I have to admit that "W" did say that he would sign the gun ban legislation if congress voted to continue it. I intend to investigate this a little farther and will get back to you.

As far as Afganistan and Iraq, I did not then and do not now have any problem with the fact that we went to afganistan and routed the taliban and Osamma, Yes, it was dissapointing that we did not follow through when we had them on the ropes. But I was not privy to the big picture. I am not saying that I approve of evrything we did there but I definetly approve of going there, it was after all where osamma was and the taliban was supporting him and protecting him.

Iraq.... "W" believed as did Clinton, the CIA and everyone else that there were weapons of mass destruction there. I believe that had we just went in and not pussyfooted around with the UN we would have found them. he did use them on the kurds. He also supported the terror attacks in Israel he was giving rewards to families of suicide bombers. He had tried to get nukes, the jews blew up his nuke reactor because of that.  If Bush made a mistake there it was not understanding that those folk were not used to governing themselves and did not even understand the concept. So No they did not welcome us in with appreciation. that surprised me too, after all, Hussein was butchering anyone who disagreed with him. look what he did after we did not follow through under H W Bush. We have cleaned a lot of insurgent clocks there and better there than here. Say what you will, there was not a terror event here during the Bush Administration after we went there. Not sure why I just know that there weren't any I'm just not a conspriacy believer, like there were and "w" just covered it up. I think alot of it had to do with what "W" was doing to stop it. yes I know everyone yaps about the patriot act now but nobody was yapping on sept 12. we all wanted to stop that BS and I will always remember how I felt when those buildings collapsed and those people died.

And who in the hell should we have elected, Gonzo Algore, or better yet John VC Kerry. Heck man knowing what I know now i pick "W" again. Since he was all we had to choose from.

NO I'm not happy with everything that happened during his administration and Definitly not happy with the bail outs, but man i wish we had "W" to pick on now!!!  I would have voted for him if he had ran this time for sure!

I'll get back to you on the same GOD thing. That smells of out of context propaganda to me!

I'd love to have BHO's birth certificate shown in court. It still hasn't been proven the BHO was  born here. I'm sure it will keep being swept under the rug.

I''m not sure what this has  to do with the Assault weapons ban,W, Gore , Kerry, Afganistanor Iraq. Hopefully the mods will delete these off topic posts and get this back on subject.

Billy Boy, you have me on ignore, but comment on my posts. Why are you doing that, and then whining in emails to the mods and Matt, when you get return fire from me? You need to either stop commenting on my posts, or stop running to the teacher and tattling. ;)

Oldshooter, I think for the most part you and I are in most ways allies on the issues. At least we should be. I just have to look at the BIGGER PICTURE, to see that ALL OF THIS, is not JUST Obama. Our past few decades of voting habits is what brought us here, not Obama, although he is a bi-product of these past voting habits.
If the Republicans were OUR FRIENDS (you and I) they would be on the news-media SCREAMING for PROOF. They alas, are not.

My point exactly Troyboy. Forget history, and you are condemned to REPEAT IT. Partisanship is the root of all evil. All these dogs and in the same flea infested dog house. Republican-Democrat, it does not matter. They ALL helped us here, with our apathetic voting habits. It is our DUTY, to remember EACH AND EVERY MOVE, whether it was made by Obama (past and present) or Bush in the last 8 years. IT IS ALL TIED TOGETHER.

Bush was no friend of gun owners.  During the 2000 campaign Bush promised to sign an extension of the AWB if it were passed by congress.  In 1994 the senate passed the AWB extension.  Ten Republican senators voted for the extension of the AWB and this put it over the top.  Five Democrats voted against the extension of the AWB, including Harry Reid.  Hastert refused to hold a house vote on the extension of the AWB.

Oh yeah, we'd have been a lot better off with the Second Amendment if Algore, or John Effing Skerry had been elected.  Bush probably was okay with banning large magazines, but he was again the lesser of two, or three evils.  A lot lesser.

The son of a bit** that's in there now, won't stop with ten round magazines.

magooch you are once again defending Bush's move on the AWB, and you don't even know what his stance was. You are taking the lazy way out AGAIN, and condemning those whom HAVE RESEARCHED THE MATTER, for what YOU THINK, he might have meant. Educate yourself man. None of this could be done without the support of the Congress and the Senate REGARDLESS of whom is president.

now  i vote for the lessor of 2 evils  after 20 years as a libertarian party member and not winning anything

you are gratually making me realize  i was right in the first place
and  both parties need  to go

you say  there is no difference in the 2 parties
i say  there  is little difference

gun  owners  did make gains during the bush years
i  think bush said he would make assault ban permanent knowing it would not come to that

i  just can't see  why ANYONE  would vote for a democrat
and  right now  only a republican  can  beat a democrat........sometimes
when drugs are outlawed only out laws will have drugs

Fellows We seem to be in the same boat paddling different directions.

Dee I detest the 2 party system, George Washington said it would be the ruination of our republic, and he was right. the problem we have now is that people like our founding fathers will not go near politics. I'm sure there are some fine young men that graduated from the military academies that would do a fine job, but they get work in the arms industry and get rich.

I'm not happy with the way the Bush administrations went, neither one of them, But they were a breath of fresh air compared to slick willie and Obama Hussein(  I'm wondering why he wont show the birth certificate)

Dee I understand how you feel and in a lot of ways agree with you, however we just have not had much to work with/vote for. So What is a patriot to do? the guys that could do the job don't run and the guys that are incompetent rise to the top.

Maybe a good housecleaning cook the dog depression will change things, I dunno. but I am open for suggestions

I'm glad we can argue this out here in this forum and agree or agree to disagree!

For 50 years I voted Republican.  Last year my vote went for the lesser of two extreme evils, Juan McAmnesty:  The next day I registered as an Independent.  Will not vote for any more damned evil-none at all.

All I care about are my 2nd Amendment rights.  Twice in my lifetime my home and family have been attacked by gun armed home invaders, one scumbag had been pardoned by a governor.  Do not give a whit what else the candidate stands for so long as he/she fully supports my 2nd Amendment rights.  I could care less that the pro-gun candidate is a gay, female Wiccan who has had two abortions-she has my vote.

That we have Obama for a president is the American voters fault. That we don't know if he is an American BORN American is the American voter's fault. We as a nation have allowed our apathetic attitude to lead us into this situation.
Oldshooter, I believe that a Depression IS ALL that will wake America up. Perhaps it will also get rid of some loud mouths folks that others have to talk around. A Depression will give THEM a chance to put into practice the idiocy they spew.

Does anyone ever check this stuff out?  Obama released his birth certificate last year.  Snopes debunked the phoney "Obama ain't a US citizen" thing last year.  Snopes:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/birthcertificate.asp

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/citizen.asp

Another one with a copy of Obama's birth certificate.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2008/jun/27/obamas-birth-certificate-part-ii/

According to the 14th Amendment every kid born in the US is a US citizen.  This is why all those Mexican women come to the US to have their kids.  Last week at the Republican party's Conservative Political Action Conference some nutcase again claimed that Obama is not a US citizen.

Cliff Kincaid, the editor of Accuracy in Media, suggested that Obama is not an American citizen.

This is the best that the Republican party can do.  Is it any wonder that they lost the last two elections.
