I passed up a Howa today

I passed on a used Howa 1500 Lightweight in .243 today.  I was surprised that it had a wood stock that was painted black.  It looked like a pretty decent gun and was very good condition.  The shop didn't want to give me a good trade and I didn't want to part with $330.00 + tax.  Did I screw up?

No, I saw a used 300WM Vanguard for less than that earlier this week. Yours was an OK deal only, not a great deal. A new Vanguard with Bl. syn. is $399.00 + tax. A new Marlin bolt is $300.00 & I am testing one of those & they are nice.
