Paul Harvey passed away
« on: February 28, 2009, 05:03:51 PM »
One of the last great news reporters.  I always thought he delivered the news fairly without putting any political slant on it.

Now there's a man who would tell you "THE REST OF THE STORY"!!!

I loved hearing him speak.

I have heard the name but he was before my time. Back when he was a news man I was not interested in the news. I was young and chasing tail. Dale

Sorry to hear that! Just heard him on last week. Really enjoyed his "news"

Man, listening to Paul was the highlight of my day when we were scouting cotton fields during the summer...

Used to love getting the news from him.  It was always nice when he came on the radio b/c that meant it was time to find a shade tree and eat lunch...

90 years is a good stretch though... God Bless ya Paul!
I'm voting 3rd party in this election by writing in Jesus Christ for president.  Sadly even if this were an option most of you would still vote Republican because "It's a two party system."

You could be assured that what Paul Harvey said was the truth, not some liberal spin. Even long ago the media was biased and liberals didn't like to hear truth so they called Harvey "old gravel voice". But then I kind of slammed the other side too. I never called Dan Rather by that name, he was always Rather Biased to me.

Wow, thinking back, those days were like love in's compared to the rancor we have today.

I remember I started listening to Paul Harvey with my dad at noon as a kid,and I still listen to him. He was a honest news reporter, he introduced us daily to "today's champion lovers" and his "For what it's worth Department" always brought a laugh.
I always told my Little Bride that I was only going to keep her long enough to get on Paul Harvey, then she had to go. Guess I'll have to keep her a bit longer.
God Bless ya Mr. Harvey

He was a friend and friendly. I will miss him.
Unlike many of his contemporaries he could dig at folks and not offend.
He was the grandfather whose opinions were trutsworthy and repeatable.
Blessings &
