cabin, I just can't help it' I got to ask. How can you call it murder in the case of 7/11 but it isn't if it's abortion. If it is human life at 7/11 in it's mother's womb seems to me it is human life in the operating room too. Don't believe you can have it both ways. Oops, gave them dang lawyers another angle on the murder defense.

Murder is defined as the killing of another human being under conditions specifically covered in law. In the USA special statutory definitions include murder committed with malice aforethought, characterized by deliberation occurring during the commission of another serious crime such as robbery or arson.

So no, I do not believe its murder as long as the law defines it as such, nor do I personally believe it should be any different. On a personal note, I do believe it is the taking of a human life similar to the state carrying out the death penalty. Intent is an important point in determining "murder". But to say that a mother who has an abortion is akin to murder during the commission of a robbery is patently misleading and inaccurate. A foolish tactic commonly used by the hard Christian Right to demonize anyone who disagrees with them.

I guess I'm foolish! My question was not whether it is murder or not. My point was it is either human life or it is not. Right or wrong is up to God not me. I believe it is wrong but I don't have to make that decision for someone else. But I don't believe anyone has the right to say it is human life only if it is taken by someone other than the mother. Hence my point. It is either a duck or ain't but not both.

So lets downgrade abortion from murder to manslaughter then, since the loss of life wasn't committed "during the commission of another serious crime", although it was "committed with malice aforethought". (What's malice aforethought - the PC way to say PREMEDITATED?)  You say "the hard christian right" as if that is an insult. Well i hate to dissapoint you cabin, most here who believe in GOD aren't ashamed of it. That is all I am going to say on this topic, if you want to keep straddling the fence, your jewels are gonna get awful sore!

This has become far too stupid to be allowed to continue. Clearly we have folks here with a problem of mental instability or who are just full of BS and wish to spread it around like fertilizer.
