Good morning everyon.  53 degrees and bright sunny today a repeat of yesterday.  Spring thaw is here. 

Time to think about chasing gophers...I have 3500 rounds of 17HM2 for my Main gun.  I was looking in the closet and notices a half gunsmithed Martini sitting in a corner.  It started as a .218 Mashburn Bee.  Think i will turn it into   .219 Donaldson Wasp. 

I have a DW Wasp alreading but it is a big heavy 18 lb Mauser bench gun.  Incredibly accurate. but just to heavy for the gopher fields.y wanted one in Martini.

Going to have to get the Lathe up and running.

I had Doug make a blotched 22K hornet chamber  in to a 221 fire ball. It was a gun show buy that some one else had bloched .   Shoots well . Fun little round .

Like my little hornet,
Ammo, bullets and brass are easy to find and does a great job out to 150 yards on small to medium critters.
I was also trying to think of a rimmed rounds that would be easy with the martini.  I know of someone who built a 223 version but had a devil of a time with the extractor.

Martini has always intrieged me, but they seem high priced when I see em at the gun shows.  I like my Hornet too, but the 219 DW is one you don't hear about much anymore.  That's enough reason right there Double D.  It was just about a perfect day outside to day, we saw 67*, sure felt like spring.  And next Sunday we start Daylight savings again.  I was liking getting to work in daylight, now gotta start over.  Wish they would quit changing it, either leave it alone or move it forward and leave it.  DP

I still laugh and have used one of your comments.

Not defendin anymore.  Retired from private practice sometime back and am persicu... uh,  :-[ PROSECUTING for the state in Atlanta now.   :D

I remember back in my old Cop days dealing with Prosecutors from County Attorney's...the young ones were the worst. They always wanted a press release with their name spelled right on top of the prosecution packet.  The old ones just wanted a good case with all the facts sewing up the case so tight it squeaked.  One in particular I remember loved to go to trial and present the case in court..  He realy had his act together.  Later he went in private practice and did as little defense work as possible and then ran for Circuit Court Judge and won and he was a good Fair one.  Was riding his Harley back from filling in, in a neighboring circuit when an 18 Wheeler ran over him...a real tradegy.

That's about all I do nowadays Doug, try to teach what I call my "baby lawyers" how to be litigators.  I tell ya, after a day with them I NEED my Martini's!   ::)   :D
