Remington 4X6 Magnum Loads for Turkey
« on: March 02, 2009, 10:19:35 AM »
Has anyone used these?
This is one of the loads I purchased a box (3 inch 1 7/8 ounce of 4X6 shot) to pattern after the snow melts. I don't know how many of each size is in the shell, I will have to open one up to find out. I think the idea is to have some high penetration #4 shot and fill out the pattern with #6 shot. I have a Primos Tight Wad .670 choke. I will post the results when the time comes, but wondering if anyone had experience (good or bad) with these shells.

I shot the same shell this past fall turkey season. Tried several different shells while patterning the gun, and a couple of chokes, and the Duplex shot best for me with that gun. It was a NEF, and with the Kicks Gobblin' Thunder choke and Duplex loads, it shot an awesome pattern.

Every turkey gun has a mind of its own though....

i patterned these shells in my gun today and was extremely pleased in a 3 inch circle at 55 yards i got 29 shots in the circle. where with the other loads i tried i got 19 and 21. i would reccommend the 4x6 to anyone they are great patterning and relatively low recoil for a 3 inch magnum
