I have just bought a Savage westpoint model 167 today. It is a 3 in. 12 ga. pump with a 28 in. barrel and a wooden stock and forearm. I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on it. When were they produced? What is it's value in good shape? Does anyone know how to take off the barrel and tube? You have to take out a screw underneath the barrel that connects it to the tube. Then you take out the spring. But I cannot get the forearm off because it conects to the action bar (single action bar). There is a little button at the front of the stock that you can press, I think it has something to do with getting the action bar off. I have not even tried to get the barrel off yet. Does anyone know if I can get Synthetic stock and forearm for it?
Thanks for any help. This is my first pump, from a world of bolt actions and single shots.
