Drafts of the new AWB may not have a "Grandfather" clause!
So everybody who owns a so called assault weapon will be a felon for
not turning it in ! Also, It will not "Sunset"....

To tell ya the truth, I am kind of hoping that the do repass the AWB, and have no grandfather clause. I also hope they go ahead and include all semi auto and pump shotguns. The reason I am saying this and would like to see it, is maybe it will wake up the gun owners. I don't know how many times I have heard gun owners and shooters say, well I don't think we need any assault weapons. I ask them, well what about riot guns? How about a sniper rifle?

I'm tired of the "I don't own any of those" gun owners, I want to see them get stepped on and see if it wakes them up? I can think of a ton of names to make an inanimate object seem evil.

I still say there is absolutly nothing we can do to stop any gun law, short of armend rebellion, the liberal scum wants to pass now. They have the votes and the ideology. I would even bet if they had a Supreme Court they thought might rule against their laws, they would impeach any judge that defied their will.

I read one version that said "any weapon with a detachable magazine" was considered an assault weapon. So a browning bolt is an "assault" weapon while a remington bolt isn't? THIS NATION HASN'T TURNED INTO A NATION OF CRIMINALS, IT HAS TURNED INTO A NATION OF FOOLS!

Ironic, that if that is the defining criteria then my old Savage 340 bolt action is an assault weapon whilst my SKS is still fine and dandy :lol:.

They're not stupid though (at least not from the position of public opinion). They'll rearrange the law as needed to not hit any bolt actions (yet). Mainly what they're after is semi-autos and handguns. They try at those. If they don't get the law passed, they try again in 5 years. If they DO get the law passed, then they give us 10-15 years to adjust to that and then come back for more.

I'm guessing that pump shotguns and "optical targetting devices" (ie, a scopes) are in the next round.

After that I'm guessing all repeaters will be the new target.

Couple years after that, all centerfire (or maybe all pre-loaded ammunition).

Finally I see them ultimately going after the muzzleloaders.

Who wants to bet after that whether or not they go after archery or pointed kitchen knives first? (the pointed kitchen knives sounds stupid, but the UK has proven it real - there's actually push there for a law to mandate that no bladed instruments may come to a point anymore).

I believe William's answer quite adequately explained it to you. From what I seem to recall from your postings on matters of religion I think you might be one of those who has turned his back on GOD causing HIM to turn a blind eye on this nation who as a nation has turned from HIM.

We'll all suffer right along with those but there will be a reward at the end for some who haven't turned out backs. That's fine I've been here a lot of years, quality of life isn't that great for me anymore so going to be with HIM any time is just fine with me. I don't dread that day at all.

First of all i never turned my back on god. We just have difrent definitions of him. I dont follow the bible that is all. I very much believe in god and gods son. And isnt it the bibe that says that who ever believe in him shall live an everlasting life. John 3-16. I know religion i just dont believe a lot of it. I do believe there is a god and i believe in jesus. I also believe hee died for our sins. Thats about as far as it goes. I dont think your beliefs are wrong just diffrent. SO please dont try to blame me that your god has turned his back on your country. I just didnt think a man as religious as you would ever think god would turn his back on his people that is all i meant.

I can see were the miscommunication would have happend. I said i wasnt that religious i just didnt go into my beliefs. I also said i think the bible was written by man not god. And that man is the most corrupt creature on this planet. (not tying to offend anybody i respect every ones beliefs on religion.) SO very easly could be confused.

Rparson. Yes God turns his back on his people. Time after time the ancient Jews turned away from him and suffered for it. Pretty clear to me that we are looking at the end times real soon and there may be an alternative to martyerdom. Either way, whether we die in a hail of gunfire, or the Lord comes to take us home, we will be in a better place.
