Not sure there is such a thing as "best" but what I use for such large guns is the Bandito by Pistol Packaging. I think their web site is www.pistolpackaging.com

What scope do you use on your big boomer(s)?

I am scoping a 44 Super RH and would appreciate your advise.

Bandito holster looks great, I believe I will get a rig as well.

Thanks!

I have stopped scoping revolvers. But I've used Leupold 2X and 4X and Bushnell Elite 3200 2-6, Bushnell Trophy 2-6 and Burris 2-7 all on them with good success over the years. These days I only scope TCs and use revolvers with factory irons only.

:o As far as the wheel guns go, I don’t like a scope on them but I do a lot of shooting in IHMSA and I have found that the Bushnell Elite 3200 is hard to beat for a hand gun! The big reason being that the eye relief doesn’t diminish as you crank up the power. It stays at 20” even when put on 6 power. I have a Burris 3 to 9 with AO and when I turn it up to 9 power the eye relief drops clear down to 10” and that isn’t enough for the big boomers. I made a barrel for an Encore, in 444 marlin and that dumb thing keeps eating up mounts and rings and that’s what I call my big boomer! It develops 3400lbs of energy at the muzzle!

I use the Bushnell Elite 3200 handgun scope on an Encore 25-06 and Encore 223.

I am considering a Millet Red Dot SP-1 on a Rugger SRH in 44 mag.
The first SP-1 I put on cracked at front lens at 2nd shot, it is at Millet now.  I would like a red dot sight on the 44 as my eyes do not focus well on iron sights at the moment.

Sorry for changing topic.

:)  :D The ones that fall apart even from mild recoil like that of a 445!

Most  scopes break not from recoil or from being a poor scope but from being mounted incorrectly. Mount them right and most of the better known brands of scopes will stand up to most anything you dish out. Mount them wrong and a .357 Mag. will wreck them.

If you are losing bases the same applies. Ya ain't putting them on right. Use a light weight (spelled aluminum) base with six screws and mount a light weight scope/rings on it.
