Rep Candidate for 2012?
« on: March 02, 2009, 05:39:19 PM »
I was thinkin about how the Obama buzz started up in about 2004.  There are a few republicans I like but whoever ends up running is going to have a huge uphill battle.  Regardless of how much damage Obama and his ilk do to the country, the media will continue to say everything is GWBs fault.

I like Palin but everytime I hear someone talking about her running in 2012 I cringe.
Romney is okay
So far I think Bobby Jindal would have the greatest chance of winning in 2012.  He is young, intelligent, and as much as the race card mattered in this last election.  I think it will again.

I'm focusing more on the congressional elections first. Getting true civil libertarians and constitutional constructionits is what I would like to see. But anything is better than a liberal socialist.

Its a ways away so who knows.
Bobby jindal.... I'd say not a snoballs chance in hell. but what do I know I said that about the SOB thats in there now!

Palin..........I've seen about all the history I care to see for quite a while!

Romney is a mormon.......Naw not by me!

Rush limbaugh wouldn't take the pay cut....he knows how it should be done but would he do it that way if it was his to do.

Forbes........ I like his tax plan although a sales tax would be the best so drug dealers would have to pay their share when they bought stuff.

Hell I'd vote for Dee he is just the man we need in there! He has bad attitude and he can shoot and he would tell it like it is. Dont tell him I said that he would get the big head. Oh and then we'd make more history. Our first Cherokee injun prezident!  Yea thats the ticket!

Personally the way things are going there may not be elections in 2012, the Emperor may call them off and if the ecomomy is headed where I think it is who gives a damn! Who ever is president will have to barricade himself in a bunker to stay alive.

There won't be an election in 2012. By then martial law will have long since been declared. Obama will either have declared himself dictator or have been killed. The nation will be ripped apart and at war on American soil. The federal government will be making war on US citizens and tens of millions will have died by then.

Yes we do on that I agree. But ya ain't gonna get them at the polls the time for that to happen is long since come and gone.

The promises of hand outs and the registration of folks who've not worked a day in their life and even many who aren't even legal citizens of this nation has removed the hope of voting them out. Besides most vote counting is done via computer these days and computers can be made to spit out whatever the person programming them wants them to.

What I'm saying here is that if in some future election every single person who votes were to vote against the candidate those in power want elected then those votes could/would be magically transformed to still elect their chosen candidate.

We the people are no longer in charge in this country. It is no longer government of the people, for the people or by the people. The super rich own the politicians lock stock and barrel and they do the bidding only of those super rich not the will of the people anymore.

Nothing can make that any more clear than them totally ignoring the overwhelming voice of the people that we did not need or want the bail outs and other packages they are voting in without even reading them. But really the passing of the so called patriot act under Bush should have been enough to show you that.

The US Constitution is being ignored by all three branches of the federal government. It is shredded and torn and no longer considered applicable to modern America by those who have taken office and sworn to uphold it.

The day is coming and it is not far off now when the forces of the government will be knocking on doors in your town and mine come to take away the ONLY means you have of taking back the freedoms we are losing day by day. If they are allowed to take those guns then just like everywhere else it has happened mass genocide will follow. In fact I think that here mass genocide is the only way they will get those guns. They are prepared and are willing to do just that.

Your right. The Rep party is dead or best nearly dead. I do think this will enable real conservatives, constitutional constructionist and civil libertarians an opportunity to get into the party and help clean it up.

Just out of curiousity, why would you pay off your bills if you think that there is going to be some sort of breakdown/collapse?

I am of the same mindset as GB. There will be no election in 2012. I will be suprised if there is one in 2010.

There is NO WAY the current troop in Washington will release their hold on power. They will have to be removed, and I dont think there are enough people left in the nation with the stones for that sort of thing.

I hate to say it, but by the time 2012 gets here things might in in motion that can't be stopped.  My wife and I talk of this often now.  The population is too big, the government is out of control but will try to take control and use force if needed and call it a national emergency.  Out forefathers knew this could well happen and warned of it more than once.  There is a reason these things are happening now,  government seems to be doing illogical things on the surface,  but sometimes I have to wonder if there is a logical reason behind breaking the country like this.  Take the money first, then the freedoms.  There could very well be a plan in all this.  Used to think talk like this sounded a bit radical,  now I think about the why's and what for's.  There has to be a reason for all this madness of telling the people things are so bad, and then making it so it is on purpose.  We lived through 10.8 percent unemployment in the early 80's, and they did not scare people, print gobs of money and spend this much....they only cut taxes and waited.  Even with the Congress spending their butts off the huge tax cuts still worked.  Now they do the opposit?  There is a reason for that, there has to be.  I hope something turns this around pretty fast.  It won't be one person doing that,  we still need 535 people in congress that are constitutional minded...and there is only a handful.

I think it's a lot simpler than that. The simple fact is that the people in government, and Washington in particular, are clueless about reality and the people. These morons are the same people that tried to legislate that gas stations be closed on weekends during the big energy crisis of the '70s. They never realized that peoples' behaviors would change to get their gas for the weekend during the week by stocking it in canisters. All these people do all day is sit around coming up with crazy and unworkable ideas that don't fit reality.

I remember a recent call in talk show in my area where a traffic administrator from the state department of transportation was asked by a caller whether he ever actually drove on the highways his projects affected. The administrator was reduced to waffling because it was clear he had not. The caller was justifiably irate because all three east-bound highways out of downtown were severely constricted simultaneously because of traffic projects. This is typical.
