What are you paying for gas?
« on: March 03, 2009, 09:19:58 AM »
Gas here is SW Pa has been like a yo yo lately. Back a few months ago it was all the way down to $1.65 a gallon. Then about a month ago it started creeping back up. I guess because OPEC cut back on production. It is now $1.95 a gallon. Yesterday it was $1.97 and a couple weeks ago it was up to $1.99. I guess I am ok with the current prices. I can live with this but when it starts to hit $3.00 and $4.00 a gallon thats just crazy. So what are you paying at the pump and where? Dale

Western Wisconsin: We've been hovering between 1.94 and 1.99  ($1.99 today)
There are a few places at $2.05, though, but I don't stop there  ;)  ::)

At the stations where I buy gas most often it is running $1.779 to $1.799 this week which I think is up four or five cents from last week. I filled up yesterday but don't recall which of the two prices it was at that station. There are three I usually buy at and they all seem to be about the same right now.

I've seen premium running as high as $2.199 lately at some stations. I don't buy there.

Hi Dale:
Paid $1.75 this morning on the Oklahoma side of the OKie/Arkie Border.   It's been bouncing up and down for the past few weeks.   Just last week when I didn't need it, it was $1.55.  ::)

The price is not opec this time. The refineries have slowed and in some cases stopped production in an effort to raise prices because consumtion is at a low. Now they need to get their piece of the action. Same as usual BIG OIL sticks it to the consumer. They have the supply and we gotta pay whatever they decide

The government is the problem. They won't let the oil companies drill more places here thanks to the pressure from the Eco Nazi’s. Further, we can’t build coal plants, we can't build  nuke plants, we can't build wind farms, we can't build solar farms, we can't build dams, we can't, we can't all thanks to the eco Nazi’s and their friends in Washington.

The eco Nazi’s and their accomplices in Washington are the reason we are in this energy mess and we are not getting out of it anytime soon. The eco Nazi’s all want us to drive electric cars, trucks, etc. but they forgot to assess the capabilities of our current electrical grid system and its ability to deliver the required power. The sad part is that we need nuke, wind, solar, dam, coal to generate enough electricity to meet the increased domestic demands.

The eco Nazi’s are much to blame and Washington has fornicated this all up. While your blaming the oil companies, they are only reacting to the uncertain position Washington and the ECO Nazi’s have placed them with having to deal with the OPEC demons. The oil companies are going to hedge their bets on your back and all of us would likely pull the same crap if put in the same BS position.

Don’t look for a solution from Obuma. He’s in the pocket of the eco Nazi’s.

$2.25 for gas here in Germany.  The local supplier recently quit delivering ANY low-grade gas.  All we can get is mid and high grade.  This alone raised our gas prices by 12cents per gallon.

Dale, I've posted this link before... but here it is again.   It is a live interactive color coded national map that shows the current average gas price in every county in the lower 48.  Its a lot quicker and easier than starting new gas price threads every few months.

When is the Messiah going to get the blame for the price of gas going up?  If Bush was still in the White House, or if McGore was there, the Dumbycrats would be threatening to investigate.

Here in central IL it was $1.77 last week but jumped up to $1.97 as of last Sunday. It Yo-Yo's as someone mentioned already and some of the proprietors are back up to the old trick of raising the price when they know that Pay Day has come to the masses on a Thur or Fri.

The problem with that is that here in my county there is no such thing as an average. I see prices varying daily by as much as 50 cents a gallon depending on where you buy it. How can an average have meaning in such a market.

Good point!!!!!! For the most part around here the stations can vary by as much as 20 cents. I find that the BP gas stations seem to be the highest. Dale
