Grouse - Christmas came Early!!!!
« on: March 03, 2009, 03:19:16 PM »
Grouse....

Christmas came early :-*.... 4:10 this afternoon big brown drove and left a package.... Was not expecting it till tomorrow.

That is a LIGHT gun.  Got the breech plug out and back in on first attempt... now it really make me laugh when I remember that Cabelas guy could not get it to move at.  Played with a little bit and the only thing that takes me by real surprise is how easy it open and latches closed - in fact after I latch it close I half expect it to open up again.

Put a cheap Tasco Mil-Dot on it for now.  I know the scope is good it came off my A&H - I always expected it break as I shot that A&H a ton but it hung in there for 4/5 years.  I'll start with it and get some experiment time.

Those bullets look like they will be fun to shoot. Isn't there some concern by some that the FTX (flexible tip) is not as good as the old hard tips - when it come to shooting game?

Tom, i really appreciate you allowing me to shoot this.... I am really glad you are to busy shooting other things that you do not have time to shoot this one - but I will take care of that for you  ;D  Not sure when right now as the weather is suppose to go to heck the rest of the week and I have to head to Kennewick middle of next week - but I am really anxious to shoot it... more so now that I got than when I was waiting for it...

Talk to you more later... gotta get some PRB stuff posted and then post a brief thought about getting this gun.

thanks - mike

I'm so glad you got that. It's so hard for people to understand how good something is with out shooting it. That ML looks blued but it's actually a weathershield barrel. I had problems with the silver weather shield and sent it back to T/C and they replaced the barrel on a different gun. My blued Triumph i sold to a friend. I bought this one and a All camo one that has never been shot. Actually neither of these have ever been shot. I'm hoping you get a good accurate load for this gun and maybe you can shoot something with it. ;)

As it looks now, the 45Disc Elite will be first up this hunting season. Keep us posted on how it shoots and keep the 777 out of it. :o ;D BH209 is all that gun needs.
