Been reading on here for a while now. Finally made it down this far and noticed the Wood Working section. Here's a couple I turned out....

Cocobola

Blackwood/Mora and Osage/Blackwood Deer Grunt Tubes

A few turkey callers

Trying to learn how to turn some bowls....

And every now and then, a crow caller

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words....I'm an amatuer at this stuff. Just trying to learn how to do it, and love the hobby.

ol bumby, That is nice work. I like the kinds of wood you use. That don't look like amatuer work to me. Carl L.

Thanks again for the compliments guys....It's just a work in progress. I've only been making sawdust for 13 months.
Learn something new every time I turn the lathe on.

Skunk, this past deer season was a huge success. To my knowledge, 13 bucks were called in by grunt calls I turned out. 12 were killed, and of course, the biggest one was missed. I'm not gonna name any names though.....The guy who whiffed is a member here, and I've humiliated him enough about it already. Just knowing they worked and called in an animal is what it's all about.

As far as the turkey callers go, I had some rough prototypes out there last season. I called in several birds with them, and a couple of friends got on the board with the ones they field tested. Really looking forward to this season though, as I feel the callers are much better this year. There is no better feeling than having a turkey gobble at something you personally made....It is awesome. Hopefully I can give y'all a good report when the season opens in 9 days.

That is some beautiful wood  .... and wonderful creations!
Banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered - - Thomas Jefferson 1802
