A Confession
« on: March 06, 2009, 08:00:40 AM »
I have a confession.
I *sob* work a desk job...in a...um...corporate enviroment. *sniff*  With...corporate people. *gag*  I have to keep a bit of a facade erected to surive. (I had a spent brass from my 1st buck on my desk for 3 years. Someone took offense and I was issued a FINAL WRITTEN WARNING and told if I brought anything like that on company property again it was automatic termination. That was a few years ago.)

The reason I brought this up is that today I slipped.  I have been slowly but surely exposing those around me to shooting, hunting, and the outdoors in general.  I have taken several "work friends" hunting and fishing to the enjoyment of all.  Today, I got a bit too comfortable and went over the line.  Someone was making fun of potted meat and spam (which I defended vehemently.)  Someone made the comment about not eating meat that sits on a warm shelf, then I brought up...canned venison.  Canned venison is a delicacy.  I love it.  It's the base of the best stew to ever grace a pot.  I was forced *sob* to listen to people down it and make "yuck face" and "gag noises" for an hour.  I thought I'd come on here and post this in the hopes that I would find some like minded individuals for some badly needed moral support.

GO CANNED VENISON (an most meat in general.)!!!
This that I do, I do by my own free will.

Find a real job.

As soon as I find one that lets a man without a college education work a flexible schedule and make more than $110,000 per year a plan to.
This that I do, I do by my own free will.

Ok guys, this thread wasn't supposed to be about career counseling. ;) But if you really want to feel the love, don't go with tractor/trailer sales, become a dispatcher. On that note, I have to agree that canned venison is indeed a delicacy.

DEER PERIOD.

Really any wild game anytime!!!
My family hasn't bought beef, other than Balongia or Hot Dogs in over 10 years.

For me it's deer all year!

You brought up the thought that you had too keep up a facade. Did you ever think that they may also?
I worked in a plastic factory---corporate enviroment---for all of my working life.
Those clowns don't have a clue what they like, they wait for someone too tell them.
Now, being from Texas, there was not a great cry about shooting or hunting except when the arguement came too a head over the proper caliber.
I know what you are saying, hang in there and do what you have to do. Don't let Those folks get you down. One day you can think for yourownself---again.
Blessings
