« on: September 02, 2003, 01:54:13 PM »
Hi: :D

Does anyone know how many pounds the pan tension is set at on Duke 1 3/4 offset coilspring traps straight out of the box?

                                                                    Thanks,

I doubt if any attention is paid to the pan tension of factory traps.  There are many things that could effect this both during shipping and preparation.

I'm guessing about 2 pounds, or a little less. The pans pretty much free fall, so that would be close.  I too doubt if much attention is made during the manufactoring process- but the assembly line should make them somewhat consistent from trap to trap.

Degreasing, dyeing, waxing all affect the tension- so as WQ says, ,don't worry about he tension until the traps are preped.
