Anyone use the Primos Wingbone call
« on: March 07, 2009, 05:18:28 AM »
Yeah...I know make your own
I tried that once and the bone pieces sat in the ice box for 3 years ::) ::) ::)

This call is under $15 and seems to be one of the few logical waterproof choices for those who can't/don't use a mouth call.

They have a short demo on their website and first impression is that it doesn't sound very good at all. I've used a variety of different calls with a similar tone and have never got a bird to answer by sounding like a barking seal.

Maybe I'm wrong

Has anyone tried it?

I've got a homemade one.  Very nice workmanship, but it just isn't that user friendly.  Can you kill a turkey with it?  Sure.  Is it better than a slate or mouth call?  Absolutely not.

My huntin' buddy is tops with his ol' homemade wingbone.  He whips it out when nothing else seem to work and IT usually does the trick.  I'm not worth two hoots with one.  It is a hard call to master.  Walt  :D
