33 Winchester Bullet
« on: March 07, 2009, 05:32:00 PM »
Veral, my brother just bought an old 1886 Winchester in 33 Winchester.

Do you have any experience with cast bullets in these rifles?  What bullet style (and weight) does LBT make that you would recommend?

I've made several molds for them, and it handles a 230 to 250 gr LFN real nice, with close to 348 Winchester ballistics.  There aren't many of these rifles around, apparently, and with their age, probably most of the barrels aren't the best.  Yet, it is real easy to clean up almost any of them, by using the LBT lap kit, until they handle cast almost as well as a perfect barrel.  Even when sections of the rifling are gone from rust, and pitting is heavy.  Cloudy bores eat cast bullets before they can traverse the length, but just a little lapping cures the problem completely.
Tell him to contact me at our forum.      LBTMoulds.com         No bullets are listed for it, but I make molds for almost anything at the same price as all my standard offerings.
