454 casull in NEF Survivor 45LC/410
« on: March 08, 2009, 01:04:39 PM »
Any thought on firing a 454 casull out of my new Survivor in the 45lc/.410. The barrell is already chambered for the 3" .410, so that isn't a concern. Is it possible that the barrell metal isn't just strong enought to handle the higher pressure of the 454 casull?

If you value your life and the firearm, you'll be wise not to, the Casull operates up to 65,000psi, the 45Colt at 14,000psi, about the same as the .410, if it were intended to shoot the Casull, it would be marked to do so. 45 Colt ammo can be used in a 454 Casull chambered firearm, but not the other way around.
