I have a Weatherby Mark V CFP (Compact Firing Platform) in .243 that I have been using for Antelope for the last several years. I had so much factory ammo that it has taken me a while to use up enough of it to get to where I needed to start reloading. I reload for all of my rifles and just start with published data for those loads and work it down down to one or two loads that work best for each. With the cost (and unavailability) of components I don't want to spend too much time developing loads for this one. Is there anyone that shoots a similar handgun (15 inch barrel) that has worked up a load that works well in their gun? If I have a fairly good starting point I might not have to use up as many components getting to the sweet spot. Thanks for the help.
Perception is everything. For instance, a crowded elevator smells different to a midget.

If factory ammo shoots good in it start with factory dupe loads. I have a Striker, but haven`t found a load I like for it yet.

I would start with 100 grain bullets and IMR 4350.

85 to 100 grain pills work very well in my guns, 85 to 87 really seem to work better than the 100's. Id try to duplicate the factory loads before trying some thing else though.

I bought a Rem M700 .243 the first year of introduction. They had 20 inch barrels then. I eventually shot the barrel out and replaced it with a Wiseman/McMillan in 7mm-08. I fired thousands of rounds and never found anything better than the 100 grain Nosler Partition and 40 grains of IMR 4350. Just my experience for a dependable hunting load and I have gotten complete penetration end to end on one whitetail. Another one was shot at the base of the neck from a tree stand and the bullet recovered under the skin in the paunch. I think that was the only bullet recovered.
