M77 Target Grey 223
« on: March 09, 2009, 06:55:45 AM »
  Just traded for one yesterday,

And I'm looking for any others with the same rifle to pick their brain for loads that have worked well in the 223 chambering..

  Let hear it ;)

  Thanks in advance,

Well boys ,

 I found the answer to my question , 55gr V-max hornady over a 21.5 gr shot of Reloader 7 w/ r-p brass and cci small rifle primers .. 3 round @ 100 .440 outside to outside ..

Next I'll pick up some 53 gr Barnes triple shock X bullet as a possible medium game cartridge

Default, I dont have a KM77VT in 223, but I do have one in 243 and one in 25-06. These are two of the most accurate rifle, out of the box that I have ever owned. I also like the LC6 trigger that Ruger put in these rifles. Quite a change from the older triggers Ruger has used in the past. I am very new to reloading, I am trying to buy up all my components. With factory ammo my 243 likes the Winchester Silver BT 95gr. And the 06 likes the Hornady 117gr best. Good luck with your rifle...Ray

Big ,

I'll second the accuracy and triggers on these models ... I have a pretty good clollection going of targets that look like this ..

Which is 3 shots at 100 yards

If it is a used rifle I suggest you make sure to decopper - mine needs it after 250 ish shots - bore must be a bit rough - however it is very accurate.
