Chas A Heyer Nairobi
« on: March 09, 2009, 12:42:38 PM »
I have had a 98 mauser, stamped 9.3x62 on the barrel, for a number of years.
Someone before me rechambered it for a 9.3 x .338 wildcat cartride.  That is a .338 case, necked up to a 9.3 bullet.  I wish that had not been done, it is a beast to shoot.
Anyhow, there is some lettering on the barrel, I think it is in bronze.  It states
Special made for Chas A Heyer & Co, Ltd, Nairobi, Kenya.

Does anyone know who this person was?

Down load it to what the 62 velocity was before rechambering, and a lot of the recoil will go away...

That most likely the name of the importer or the store that sold it in Nairobi
