Did a little adjustment of my 700 x-mark trigger

I have a 700 CDL Boone and Crocket in .243 that I am trying to work up some loads for and decided to lighten the trigger some.  By my scale it measured right at 4.5 lbs.  The only screw I adjusted was the bottom right one.  Turned it out 1/2 turn and the pull measured 4 lbs.  Turned it out another 1/2 turn and pull measured 3 lbs.  I decided to leave it there.

It feels pretty good to me, is there any reason I should mess with the other 2 screws?

Oh and I figured out a good way to get past the goop on the screws is to heat up the end of the allen wrench.  Slides right in the hole

I have a SPS in 7mm-08, did the same thing; got my down around 3lbs also, just be sure to check it wont slam fire. I closed my bolt rather hard just to make sure it wont fire. Worse thing now is remington is coming out with an adjustable X mark pro trigger, where the weight can be adjusted from the trigger.

Along with slamming the bolt shut a few times to test, I hit the floor with the butt/recoil pad a few times to try and duplicate the force it would receive if it fell to the ground. I also hit the sides of the stock around the action area pretty hard to see if it fires. Might be a little extreme but better safe than sorry right?!

Yeah, I slammed the bolt shut several times and banged on it here and there.  Everything seems fine.

I tried to turn the sear engagement screw but just twisted my allen wrench   Do I need to heat the screw with a light or torch or something first?

Yeah, them screws are really sealed. I broke a allen bit clean off the 1st time I tried to tweak mine. I left them set to factory, I only adjusted my trigger weight screw. No creep or over travel. It's sweet.

Do you remember how many turns you took off of the trigger weight screw?  I may turn mine out a little more for target shooting then back in for hunting.

I also tap the top of the rear receiver ring to check trigger engagements. If there is clearance between the bolt, and the hole it rides in sometimes a tap there will unsear the rifle,and it will fire......... even at factory settings. Since the gun could land in that position if dropped it is worth checking.

Maybe 1 turn, just turned it til my trigger gauge read about 3lbs 2oz.

I brought mine down to where it is lighter than any other factory Remington trigger I've messed with.  I then put it on fire, and slammed the rifle off of my knee 10 times to see if I could get it to slam fire.  I also cycled the action on fire 10 times, and worked the safety off and on 10 times to see if I could get the trigger to let go.  All was fine, so I put some fingernail polish on the screw (pink works best) and left it alone.

I'm sorry, I have seen hang tags on trigger guards and other information saying some of the x-mark pro triggers are externally adjustible.

Yeah I still had to pull my barreled action out of the stock to mess with the trigger.

Yes indeed 277284, the 2009 trigger is supposed to be externally adjustable, however, it also appears that the only external adjustment available without having to pull the barreled action out of the stock is the pull weight.
