Henry lever action 22 s

Has anyone have any hands on experience with this rifle ..would like to pick up a very inexpensive plinker and these seem to sell for a couple of hundred bucks.

My H001 is good looking and shoots good.  I have a Leupold 4 power rimfire scope on it.  I e-mailed Henry that I wasn't happy with the trigger.  They sent me a polished trigger and hammer which I installed.  I'm very happy now.  Henry customer service is top notch.

They are an excellent value for the $$$$.

I bought a 100%, used .22LR H001 (no box) for just under $200 last Spring, and soon peeped it.

I've found it to be as accurate and reliable as my Winchester 9422Mag.

I think it a perfect understudy/practice rifle for my Winchester 94 Trapper.

I have one like you got and really like it, also have one in the 22 mag and it does great as well.  For the money, I don't think you can match them for smoothness and reliablity as well as accuracy.  Ranger 44, what is the peep you have on yours?  DP

 I can feed mine old ammo that jams my Ruger 10/22 . shoots good using the open sights at about 35 yards.I have not taken it any where to try farther shots.
  Since it not a semi-auto the action doesn't get as dirty. I like it , so I odered the henry acu-bolt and going to give it a try.

DP - I altered a Williams WM-96 Peep, normally designated as a drop-in to replace military Mauser rear sight leaf(s), by drilling a hole through it's forward extension for an attachment screw.

It's adj for W&E, and it's low enough to enable the rifle to be zeroed with the issue front sight - which I painted orange, with a daub of BRIGHT SIGHTS sight paint.

Looks great, nice job.  I have a scope on my 22 mag but these old eyes don't see sights so good anymore.  Peep is next best, have one on my 444P and a Rossi 44 mag.  DP

I picked up a little Henry H001Y, "Youth" model lever rifle. It's a beauty and shoots srtraight every time.

I figured for the price- I could take it along in the truck eveywhere- and beat it around a little and not have to worry about it. I have a vintage Browning semi-auto, and Marlin 39 Lever that I do shoot a lot, but I sure don't want these rifles to get scratched or marred.

I do take my Henry with me now- all over, all the time ... but I find that I keep it cased and uncase it carefully, and am real careful where I set it down.  This rifle with its clean lines is so attractive- that I just that  can't bear to "abuse" it.

I had a Henry US Survival rifle that didn't work properly & when I wrote Henry for parts, Mr. Imperato said he would fix it free.  I sent it to him & they sent me a new one a week later.  That inspired me so I bought a .22 Golden Boy and a standard .22 lever Henry.  It looks like they will shoot under an inch at 50 yards.  Maybe alot under an inch.  Too early to tell.  Both have beautiful walnut stocks and actions smooth as a greased pig.

great all around gun. I like the standard model better than the golden boy because it is lighter. Very accurate and a smooth action for a sub $200 gun.

I put a scope on the standard model and shot a 3 shot group off bags at a measured 50 yards with Remington Golden Bullets that measured LESS than .250 center to center.

I also shot many larger groups.

I'm kind of anxious to shoot some of my match ammo & see what it will do.
