Beretta Bobcat 22lr

I am think about getting a Beretta Bobcat 22lr and wondering if anyone has one. For those that do how do you like it?

nice pistol ..likes clean ammo cci an such..i passed my ccw with one.. they laughed at it at first but i beat every one thru each phase of the shooting an scored 100 % hits..because i liked it so well i let a friend i care for have it because they couldn t afford one.. its a 22 but a 22 in the face with hollow pts will be hard to get thru for the bg..good luck

There was a video on TV news a couple years ago where a shooter emptied his gun (a .22) into the head of the vic and he never even passed out.  This was a lawyer, and most likely hard in the head, but was largely unhurt. 

It takes a perfect shot with a .22 to stop someone who is intent on doing harm.  A body shot may do it but it may give the attacker time enough to do you in before he goes down.  And in a combat situation you will not have the time or the fine motor skills to make the perfect shot.  It may come down to luck.

I love my .22 pistols, and have a few.  I hunt with them, plink with them, and have lots of fun with them.  I don't think they are enough to keep my family safe.

I have one and I would say its a quality handgun. However , it is a bit finicky with ammo. It does not feed Federal 36 grain hollow point bulk ammo so well.

Is this the little auto that the barrel flips down to load the first round?  I handled one of those a few weeks ago and liked it,but didn't know what I would do with it.  How accurate is it?

Yes that is the one. I had one before and sold it to a friend. I never had a chance to shoot it. I did not know what I was going to do with it either. But I still like it and thats why I am thinking about another one. I had a taurus pt22 that I did shoot but that trigger was always double action and was on the heavy side. As far as self defense I like 9mm and above. I have carried .380 and still would in a pinch but I think 9mm and above is better to stop the threat.

i have the inox bretta 22lr . had some malfunctions at first  narrowed it down to the correct ammo  ror the gun,[its ammo sentive] however stingers work all the time  and the  magazine follower , i bought another mag and it worked ok and noticed 2 different  magazine follower angles got the file out and now both work well. another thing they need a break in period of a few hundred rounds

I have the Model 21 Bobcat Keith and have had it for about 12-14 years or so.   Mine is surprizingly accurate, but it is very loud.   I've never had any ammo problems that some folks complain about, so I guess I just buy better quality ammo accidently.   Makes a great gun for treks on the desert because it's so small and light with a nylon holster you alomost forget its on your belt, its very safe to carry and is accurate enough to behead a coiled snake or drop a bunny or quail for the camp pot.   FWIW, I used to carry an Astra Cub 22 Short for the same purposes 50+ years ago (took a lot of puddle ducks with it as well by S & S).  Sure wish I had that one back - lots of memories and good eats with it.

They are not all that expensive, so it is an itch that is fairly easy to scratch.  I just may have to get one.

I guessed pretty good at 12-14 years (looked it up in my records - I got mine 5/96 and paid 195 for it).    Not bad for a new Sexagenarian as of yesterday.   

When I went shopping it was between it and a Taurus M22.   While I got very good service with all the Taurus revolvers I owned at the time, I just liked the Beretta M21 better.   The price difference was only a few dollars more than the Taurus and didn't matter to me.   I thought that the tip up barrel feature would be real handy for my intended purposes for the pistol (and it is), so that's why I only considered those two models at the time.

 wish i had mine back.. used ive not found one less than 300 lately.. i paid 239. 4 yrs ago.. as to the fellow that took 6 to the head ,,thats why you experiment with ammo. .. some i used in mine ,,i can gurantee
 2 to penetrate scull an way on into the head.. i know because i tried it on thicker than human sculls.. the cci quick shok would probably be guilty of skating off the scull. but the velocitor would penetrate for sure ,as well as the stinger..so the .. the main thing is using an rnd your gun likes well.

the  taurus was  $100  cheaper  wholesale a few years ago

i  sold  a taurus  and  the berreta  a few years  ago  and took them both to the range

i  liked  the taurus MUCH  better

berreta  was  double action  then single action.....dangerous  under stress  if actually  needed
taurus  was  double action  only.....much  safer

check  the  extractor  befor  you buy  it
if  ant one  owns  one  check  you extractor

they  are  both neet handi little guns
i carried the taurus in 25  for a few  months
then went  back to the  357  [25 holds 10-22 holds 9]

what  ever  you heard  about  the 25acp
put that with the fact  a 22lr  is  weaker


sure  your 22 rifle is  more  than  a 25acp

but  i tested  the tuarus   25  and 22 side by side

22 lr out of your berreta   i liks  a short in your rifle

the dude was shot in the uper arms not one bullet hit his vital area, the shooter was an idiot, and he wasnt shot in the head check your fackts.

Have 2 of them, bought one and traded for one. I like both of them, but don't need bot one, sill probvably sell one of them. Both are very accurate. Have'nt had any problem with them not liking any kind of ammo.
